Back to 1.3? Ok, so I tried Warrengate CM WT5 solo...

    Hi all,

there was some discussion if we are back to 1.3 (1 shot deaths, spongy enemies).

After really easy daily CM Lincoln I decided to try solo challenging Warrengate Power Plant in my squishy not so solo 229 1.4 build.
It was really...not gonna say hard, but intense (160k toughness + reckless chest).

I feel there is a lot of room for improvement like better solo build (or a solo build at all), more powerful weapons and gear, better skills and talents...
maybe better player (could go more for headshots, use grenades, crowd control, play even a bit safer etc).

Anyway, it took little above 45 minutes, I managed to do it on first try with many close calls (excluding few deaths at very beginning).
Even if I had to repeat some checkpoints I would consider it fine difficulty-wise.

Overall, we are nowhere near 1.3, with proper build should be easy. Hope its not too boring and someone will enjoy it if patient enough:

PS. This was my first attempt on making some video ever and I am not planning to do much more...and I do not solo much either.

PS2. Build showed at the end of the video.

The game definitely doesnt feel like 1.3 to me. The enemies are little harder in WT5, but not as spongy as they used to be. I remember that some daily HVT's were almost impossible to do in 1.3 because I just ran out of ammo. Defo not like that now.

Hey Oggy999, good post. I think a lot of people had their perception skewed from patch 1.4 and the introduction to world tiers. Actually most people who played 1.3 went into world tiers pretty much fully geared so they expected 1.5 and wt5 to be the same, those that are saying bullet sponges are back aren't considering this and think their 229 gear will cut it.

Yeah...but I think good 229 build will cut it, except for the trickiest missions like Warrengate and Russian consulate on challenging solo (even those should be doable).

As for people struggling, they need to build proper 256 build and play accordingly to the difficulty, facetanking is not there anymore.
Maybe shield builds and robust+sturdy with all armor and smart cover can absorb damage for longer times. Or a good health on kill build.

facetanking is very much still possible, you just need to KNOW which exact enemy does how much dmg etc.
i'm running the same 4-AB + 2-Nomad LMG build i used in 1.4 and just replaced the items with 256 equivalents and it works great, even tho i am lacking a bit of damage due to not having found the right weapons just yet.

the only thing that you need to be carefull about are LMB enemies as they (for some reason) do WAY more damage than everyone else, and im not even talking about the heavies but about some freaking medic or engineer who can melt through my 450k toughness within seconds while a riker-heavy cant even do that kind of damage... just seems a little "off"

solo-challange missions have always had a difficulty ranking and warrengate for sure is on the harder side ... any LMB populated dungeon is on the harder side basically.

Played with a friend doing some S&D intel gathering last night and my jaw dropped to the floor when i had to put a full mag into a veteran shotty to put him down. Even the red barred LMB were taking a s##t load of rounds. At the moment i am running a 268K DPS Lightweight M4 build, which surprised me how long they were taking to kill. Was an intense battle though, as we ended up being engaged from both ends of the street. And the aggressiveness of the NPCs now!! WOW.........Even had snipers advancing on our position. Crazy. Patch 1.5 certainly makes wandering around the LZ more enjoyable

Thats the point, with good build you can facetank some enemies, but not when 5+ are firing on you...or lonely lmb machinegunner. People get in cover when 8 enemies in room, pop head, shoot for more than 2-3 seconds and get melted...then complain. Not even mentioning Rambo style players...

Dont look at dps, look at damage numbers you are doing...I have similar dps with AK47 with difference that it melts enemies fairly quick. Try to look at few kills in video and you will see how much regular lvl 34 elites take bullets if I happen not to miss half a mag (heavys need more obviously).

And right, it is more enjoyable, even some challenge to be found....but I still want heroics everywhere only for best coordinated groups.

It feels like ARs feel little less powerful than they used to before. I am not sure what it is, but I also found myself using LMG/MR which I never did before. I was always SMG/AR person.
