Drop Rate on Named Gear Set Pieces is MUCH too Low

Problem: Named Gear Set Items are much too rare. Their drop rates are so low. They aren't reasonably possible to farm.

Much like the Showstopper and Caddy, the drop rate on these new named gear set items have the old, legacy drop rates.

These drop-rates are much too low and it is simply not feasible to reliably obtain one of these items. Much less grinding to obtain BIS of these items.

I would reckon that these items were made before the release of the game, so they were coded with the original drop rates of gold gear back when it was not 100%.

It appears that the drop rate is ~ 1/100.

    Remember:

1/100 for Laure's Chest at 10 minutes a run is ~16- hours of Lexington Event Center for a chance at ONE chest-piece.

1/100 for the Tommy Gun at 2 every hour (without dying or missing 1 supply drop) is 50 hours in the DZ for the chance at ONE tommy gun.

Remember, we need to be able to grind for these items to be BIS. Not just get ONE and be happy with that.

Solution: Increase the Drop Rate for these items. Rare is fine, impossible is not.

Hey, the drop rate on these items is meant to be low as they have some pretty powerful bonuses and are pretty unique. The update hasn't been out for very long and we will continue to monitor the situation around this.

    Thanks for your feedback.

The issue I have is not so much the drop rate but rather the idea of limiting drops to DZ only. I think all weapons should be available in both the DZ and the LZ. It's very short sighted to make items DZ only.

I have to agree with the OP, don't get me wrong I can understand dev's wanting these items to be rare but holy cow they are borderline impossible to get. I've done Lexington 15-20 times with anywhere from 1-4 friends and none of us have gotten the chest piece yet and I have never even seen a Showstopper drop.

The biggest problem isn't even how hard they are to obtain, but that when you get them there is a fairly large chance that the item is going to roll very poorly then what? You just wasted 16+ hours grinding one mission for literally nothing.

Like I can see it now "HOLY SH** she finally dropped the chest piece YESSSSS!!!!)

    - looks at the stats-

Horrible bottom of the barrel Armor roll

    Low 1100 Electronics roll

Didn't roll armor as a main stat

    didn't roll ammo

-sighs and sells the item to the vendor dying a little bit inside-

So far seen 2 of the skulls gloves drop and using 1 pair my self but low rolls on them so always room for improvement and started with ferro farming today bouncing a bit back and forth barret and ferro, tried a few days now with barret no luck and not seen anyone get the chest piece yet in the groups i have run with in there.

The Named pieces should be hard to come by since they sort of go against the current games ideal builds in regards to set pieces and such, those kind of builds has been the go to build with the set pieces, and these new named ones are simply put a good idea, combined with reckless chest and those mc gloves my damage boost was quite good.

And my own pair of those MC gloves i got from field proficiency cache and mate had his pair drop from 1 of the world bosses with in our first world boss farm so it is a game of chance to get the named pieces but if they just dropped every other try on a boss what would be the point.

    I can understand that.

I would keep in mind that for the drop-rate, the viability of an item isn't assured. You should assume that to (statistically) even have a middling (usable) named gear set item, you will need to obtain multiple of the item.

These bonuses are cool and strong, but they don't beat well rolled pieces that we are already rolling in.

Electronics Main Stat Roll? Used very sparingly in very unique builds.

    Chest-Pieces that can't roll Armor? Instant-Sell.

Kneepads or Mask without EAD? Instant-Sell.

Gloves that aren't CC/CD/Weapon Damage or CC/DTE/Weapon Damage? Skull Gloves aren't good enough to compensate for bad rolls.

Backpack w/o Armor? Or without being able to roll Ammo Capacity? That's over 500 bullets in a PVP mode. That's game changingly strong.

Poorly rolled new weapons? These aren't OP weapons, they are instantly delete if they cannot compete with the talents you already have.

    35 survival caches.

    Not 1 named piece.

    that's not "Rare" or "Unlucky"

    that's just not fun.

Can you please find the actual drop rate information? The data-mined information is putting it at ~1%

17% to get to the rare drop table

and then another roll of 6% to get either a showstopper or a chestpiece.

    Drop 4 - Weapon Skin (Solid Pink) / Showstopper (33 only) / Barrett's Vest (34 only)

Chance item drops from group: 17%

    -Weapon Skin 100 (87%)
    Solid - Pink

    -Exotic Shotgun - Showstopper 7 (6%)
    The Showstopper

    -Exotic Gear - Barrett's Vest 7 (6%)
    Barret's Bulletproof Vest

If the droprate is comparable to Showstopper in 1.3 I would not bother to farm it for a specific build.
I did ~ 120 runs on Heoric Lexington in 1.3 and got one showstopper,

In 1.4 PvE content only I did not see a single Named Whatever, and I easily looted 1000+ HE/Sets/weap since 1.4 dropped
Up to 1.5 I didnt mind as there was actually not a single named Item left worth pursuing, besides the Hog which seems to be DZ exklusive (which is errm questionable as massive promised "everything from everywhere)

All in all 600 hours since 1.1 and I did not loot a single Named item outside the DZ besides the one Showstopper.
IF the droprates are comparable outside the DZ in 1.5, then the Build options with the new named HighEnds can only be considered when you actually get the drop. But I wouldnt waste my time working towards it because the chance is way to high that you never receive one.

That Massive reintroduces some kind of loot weight back into the loottables is rather worriesome. (only specific crates/ Named etc.)

20 hours of 1 mission for 1 showstopper roll.

    That's a joke.
