    Ghost Recon Wildlands: "Intel Videos"

The newest one is out and like the last one it is absolutely devoid of actual "intel"

    http://ghost-recon.ubisoft.com/wildl...ews/index.aspx

I understand the marketing concerns and the fact that these vids are for the consumption of the not-so-hardcore-non-forum folks but the lack of concrete info and the repetition of information doesn't really do much for me

These videos feel like a perfunctory exercise that almost every mililtary shooter does these days - with the blacked out ex Spec Ops guy talking vaguely about the game

Could we actually get some useful info please?

The good old days we never had reveal trailers and what not they must be leaving it to our imagination

Absolutely right. The lack of actual, concrete information is getting incredibly annoying and almost seems to give off the impression of a lack of confidence in the product. This same time frame back when Future Soldier came out we knew WAY more about that title than this one. Don't tell us why it's awesome, SHOW US WHY IT'S AWESOME.

Oh look, another featurette video............sigh. It deeply saddens me that there are actual fans out there that get hyped off of garbage like this. It shows that the community will settle paying a fortune to play a game that's backed up with far less content in the marketing than it used to be in the good old days. Ubi Soft, this is not a damn movie, this is a video game. Show us some video game footage and back up all this talk of "freedom of choice" and "tactics", and "capturing the essence of Ghost Recon".

It's Ubisoft's SOP. If they rely on hype to market the game, the content of said game doesn't really matter. They are selling you the concept of the game, what you want it to be, not necessarily what it is.

Anyway. I hope they release an in-depth dev walkthrough soon, but I'm not holding my breath.

And that's not false advertising? I can intentionally sell a game as something I never intended it to be and get away with it?

It totally is and they have so far.

Followed this game since reveal and I have learned that you should never let French speak English. That is worse than our Finnish rally English Just subtitle that stuff in the future.
    I also learned to multi-quote

Though I am really unsatisfied with how they are marketing This game I would not agree with you about them just selling a concept - they have already showed to us that This concept already is a game at E3. = An Open world in which you coop with you friends and do the mission just like you want to.

Because they are not the one intentionally selling it as something it's not. If they release vague trailers with operator dudes firing assault rifles full auto with catchy music playing in the background, the audience will sell it to themselves as whatever they want. It's quite clever actually.
