    Gear 256 & Tier 5

I'm on console(Xbox), I was wondering if someone could tell me how to get gear with the 256 score when patch 1.5 goes live?

I guess I heard you need a average gear score of 230 or higher to get into Tier 5. Will 256 gear drop in tier 4 because my personal gear score is 229.

Thanks if you're able to respond.

You could do tier 5 in 229 gear on the PTS. It should be the same when 1.5 goes live on the 22nd. Vendor tier 5 supply caches sell for 400,000 each so start saving your pennies for Tuesday.

Same way the previous WTs work.... you can move up befoer you havve the stated GS.

    EX, I have 140GS, I am stuck in WT1. I have 142GS, I can go to WT2. Once I have 170GS I can go to WT3, and so on.

In this case, it will take about 6-10 minutes to get up to 256 level in WT5. 229 is already enough to move to T5 instantly, so:

    1. load game-> load T5
    2. run Hard mode madison once
    3. now you have 256 drops/caches/vendors.

Hell if your already 229 you don't have to run anything, replace step 2 with "Change WT to 5" and start buying caches lol

I know as soon as 1.5 drops I'm going to walk out the BoO 256 as I have almost 50 million to spend on caches right now and I'll probably have close to 65-70 million by Tuesday.

This by no means will mean that myself or anyone else who has this plan will be min-maxed day one by any means but its one hell of a head start that's for sure.

    Why Madison

ZoharQAW - you're right of course, that's 100% my plan. I'll add that I also have been hoarding phoenix credits and electronics crafting pieces so I can quickly buy the level 34 stamina and firearms mod blueprints in the terminal and roll a bunch of them to get some with armor fast. But I have a question, why do you say go straight to Madison? Any particular strategy to that? I was planning on running a few lower level HVT missions right after 1.5, thinking that would be the fastest way to get enough 256 drops to elevate the gear score. I suppose my underlying assumption is that one has to push one's gear score up fairly high towards 256 before buying all the caches (I'll be buying 50 - $20M / $400,000 = 50 ) like we had to with 1.3 Underground. Maybe I'm wrong about that and Madison has another function? Thanks in advance for enlightening me.

Madison is fast and easy mission to farm the new starting 256 gear. But I prefer the Amherst's Apartment because it's even more faster and easier.

A lot of great info here, thanks. The 'teal' caches must be new because I've never seen them for sale, but I have extracted them from the DZ. Cheers

Teal caches are in terminal for 100PxC.

GS256 caches costs 400k regular credits and 200PxC as they have higher value.

For tier 5 GS limit is something like 223 if I remember correctly.

Best way for fast gear up is farm roaming bosses. You get about 40 HE items per run, included teal ones and you can do it under one hour
