    Future plans, heroes VIII

    Hello Moshi, mods,

Are there any plans for futher development of this franchise? Is still Erwan the creative boss? It would be nice to reopen shadow council and start over, properly this time.

Repeating this again since Ubisoft does not seem to be listening:

Strategy games can still be successful in 2018. I can use the example of the Civilization VI. The reason why the game succeeded was a) that the game was released quite polished without rush, b) improving the mechanics and good points from the previous series AND c) came with some brand new ideas as well.

Being said generally, the key point is to a) release a working product to get good ratings and reputation (and not to make fans angry), b) collect all the interesting ideas from the previous games and c) add something new, not disturbing but giving people reasons why to buy the game.

H6 was released incredibly buggy and left unfinished. It had new ideas but changed too much. C here, A+B missing. Not successful.
H7 was released incredibly buggy and left unfinished (again! - people were angry because of H6 release as well). It tried to return back to the roots but some good mechanics from the previous games are missing, so it's a step back in some regards (no alternative upgrades, no score boards, limited achievements, boring hero specializations again) AND there are not enough fresh ideas. Combined with technical problems, it was not worth for many people to buy new game which brings similar things as the old ones but working worse. B here, A+C missing. Not successful (although I love it ).

H8 needs a new beginning. Probably together with some fresh team, the audience must be convinced that this time, the game will get a proper development ot deserves and that it will not be left unfinished and broken like H6 & H7 (as the author of UCP, I've found hundreds of bugs in H7 final version, so I know what I'm talking about). This franchise needs to continue. Matching the conditions A+B+C, Heroes 8 could be among the AAA games again.

Side note: This is not a blind shot, I'm convinced that I'm right. I've been following this franchise's development and various community websites for years. I'd been watching the H7 development from the early beginning until its quite bitter end, so I dare to claim I know exactly what went wrong.

Yeah, look at total war. New game every 2 years.
I wondering what happened to Sareth, Sarah and Kiril. I'm not sure if we will see. Ubi probably wont make any new big game. 2 games with bad sales. Duel of champions is closed.

Someone Listen and make HOMM 8

I don't normally post, and just consulted my fellow members of the silent majority..

    Look.. HOMM 1-3 were classics, 4 was a mess, 5 was okay, 6 was a bit meh 7 is/was half-finished/buggy etc.
    We know this..
If you make HOMM 8, let's face it Ubisoft, you'll probably screw up again and fail to finish it, or make a bland follow-up..

    But..

We don't care!! I mean we do.. it would be lovely to have decent QA and a really polished product, but we're such fanatical fans of
this franchise, that we will still buy it, if it has Might and Magic Heroes <something>.

Look.. you have already killed the franchise with the consistent letdowns.. and yet you haven't!! this franchise has a hardcore base that
won't let go for the vain hope that maybe 'this one' is going to be really good. You don't even have to worry about messing up again.. We'll
still be vowing never to buy ubisoft again, while we pre-order HOMM 9 anyway!!

    Doooo it!!!
    Seriously!!!
Make it.. make two cashcow add-ons.. and before you can say 'Wow! That is an amazing value proposition!!' you will be swimming in profits
(and more complaints.. but see above.. don't sweat it!! )

Well, maybe it will be better to start everything from the beginning? Make a kind of reboot of the series and the universe? What about development of M&M11, but not as a side product of MMH universe. Maybe it will be better to create a new world and introduce it in M&M11 - create a grand open world which will be interesting to explore. And later release HMM8, as a more epic game with grand battles and wars in an already known world?
