    On the topic of maps.

    Hi there everyone!

    While there has been a lot of talk about this and that, there has not been too many discussions about something like maps. So I would love to bring up just that, Maps.

    While characters, factions and gear might be important to many, if you just take a moment to thinkabout it. Maps are also a very important thing.
    Think for a bit, share and discuss anything regarding maps. What would you like to see as a map in the future? A standoff on an open field? Fighting in a colosseum? Any specific traps you would like to see across the maps?

    What would your ideal map be?

    Personally I've got a thing for snow. A somewhat open field with heavy snow falling down, perhaps even a blizzard.
    I wouldn't mind something like a normal map with a blizzard, if you're fighting outside your character gets affected by the blizzard, slowing him/her down, movespeed and attack speed. If you were to go inside a building your character would slowly recover back to it's orginial state.

    Would love to know what everyone would like to see in the future, please, do share your thoughts and wishes!

    Sounds like a neat idea! How would you like to see the effects of getting struck by lightning? Damage? Stamina depletion? Being dazed?

    Certainly something i have also pondered. I walk my dog daily and the route includes a section in the countryside along a ditch that has trees and bushes growing on each side. It reminded me of the scene in the first film of Lord of the Rings where the hobbits are escaping the riders, the trees enclosing them on both sides. Well, take that idea of a narrow (ish) channel or dried up stream, with your opponnent potentially blocking the way. It would be part of a map that would largely be set in a wood/forested area, ditches and gullies, an open ish area forming "the front" for dominion, perhaps an old ruin, water features, maybe even some wild animals (anyone seen any horses in the videos - i dont recall - but perhaps you might have a group of them running wild as a hazard or mobile trap) etc. I dont know about "ideal" but seemed like it might be interesting.


    On the notion of a snowy map - how about ice patches affecting your intertia - fighting while sliding around might become a little farcial however.. maybe have them act as a trap (fall through the ice

    Loving it ! I'd enjoy the idea of fighting in a forest, really hope the game features more or the ''wild'' rather than surrounded by buildings or inside a castle. Would love that things about being able to block a path like ''It's through me or not at all''.

    Also while taking a step away from dominion and thinking about maps towards other modes like the 4v4 Elimination mode, a forest map would fit in great too. Doesn't have to be a big map, rather a quite the small one wiht some tress here and there. Would also fit my wish with the open snow map. About ice patches, loving that too! Fighting on a frozen lake, why not? Throwing enemies on the thin ice would be awesome. Could also be something that happens at random. Lets say you're fighting a lot at the same place and the ice begins to crack so it makes you want to move away from there, or keep fighting and risk falling in.

    But these lightning should also affect an whole area where it goes down ... not just the Player.
    So it should be a really chaotic atmosphaere!

    That would be the interesting part, that there would be a dangerous zone, which has to be passed for some reason (maybe as a Controll Point) on an higher area of the map, where it goes wild sometimes ^^
    It would be a constant risk to be ... but of course it shouldn't happen constantly to get struck by them .... just sometimes.
    So, my first thought about the lightning would be different ''layers''. Like, 3 layers, or.. Rings. First ring, very small which is where the lightning strikes, get hit and you die. Second layer would be pretty close and result in damage being taken, dazed and stamina loss. 3rd layer would just be a daze. Some kind of warning could be made where the lightning is supposed to strike so you could perhaps throw your opponent into it?

    I would like to see an expanded color palette. Don't get me wrong, I love the gritty/realistic feel the game has going on--but something less "brown and gray" would be nice. Maybe a map with a verdant green field with a lot of space to maneuver around and to make the characters really pop out. As it is, I feel like they blend in a lot. A ship-based map might be interesting too--I don't mean with ships that move, but like in the middle of a naval battle where the ships have all been smashed together and are linked together for boarding.

    A blizzard/snow based map would be great as well. A desert map may not necessarily fit the current factions, but I think a map with a lot of dust and sand would be interesting. I guess the operative word I'm thinking of here is "variety."

    It would also be great to have a progressive map where different parts are unlocked during the course of the match depending on which team is winning or losing.

    For 1 v 1 and 2 v 2 a coliseum map would be great as well, but it would have to be stylized differently to fit the lore I imagine.
