I think they can make a separate character for multiplayer, but as for the single player, it´s Marcus because the game has a storyand you´re playing as a male character.

Not all games gotta have character creation. It depends on the author. If the story has defined characters, then it´s the way it gotta be. Same goes for tomb raider.

Nobody is saying all games should have character creation, but certainly where a game has significant clothing customisation options and even lets you choose a character for multiplayer, it is absolutely bizarre that the options are 20+ men and not a single woman.

In most of those games, much like the Uncharted series, you have to complete the game first as the main character to unlock the alt skins/attires. How many people really want to play through the entire game once and then play through it again as a secondary character?

No they don't. Most multiplayer games have a handful of characters unlocked by default, not just one. Tomb Raider is no exception. In fact you can't even play with Lara from the beginning. She is the very last character you unlock at Level 60. You can certainly play Samantha from the start though... and about five other characters, most of whom are male. What was that someone said earlier about being forced to play Lara again?

Yes, that is a single AAA game out of 20+ titles being released every year. And let's be honest, Square Enix made damn sure male audience is satisfied Just watch the Clueless Gamer review.

BTW, the male Tomb Raider is Nathan Drake.

Seeing how many women are playing games I think developers would do smart to let players chose what gender to play as. I would be irritated if almost all games I played had a female character as I cant relate as a man.

The gaming industry is gigantic. And women are playing more and more. Having this option in more games would not only be a smart business decision but the right thing to do for everyone.

Summed it up perfectly, and it is an area that Ubisoft has been pulled up on several times already. It was brought up for the new Ghost Recon as an issue, and they actually responded by adding female options. Sadly it was too late for WD2, but this was a disappointment for me as well, not gonna lie. But it is something that more and more developers are starting to take on board. If you want more female gamers, and more sales - start catering options to that audience.

Great, another drive-by baiting post, people fell for it. They want female characters again. Even though you only ever get to see your own.

Ubisoft immediately update or patch for character customization at least like a The Division. So this game is never success.
