🛈 Announcement
Greetings! The Crew forums are now archived and accessible in read-only mode, please go to the new platform to discuss the game

Thank you for your reply Gaid, and while it is nice to hear that there are plans to improve the chat, you and others before seem to have a misconception about what my suggestion tries to achieve.
My suggestion does not aim at making it easier for player to communicate with people they already intended communicating with. You and the others are correct that for this purpose, 3rd party applications are better.
But my suggestion aims at making it easier for players to communicate with other people they didn't intend communicating with.
The reasons why I think the current implementation fails at this, I have named earlier. The goal of my suggestion is to meet new people, not to meet the ones you already planned meeting with.

Not necessarily needed when you use VoiP tools and why using an external chat (probably without an Overlay plugin) when there is a working Chat ingame. I only see one exception (someone may correct me or add sth if I'm wrong)= 8-player cruises.

Sometimes it just is a personal decision so some ppl don't like to talk -ok. But gamers know Voice comm is the best and fastest way. Hands-free and more text to transmit than you can ever type in that time.

Tbh I'm always using text chat, not going to use any kind of voice chat. So any improvement is warmly welcomed by me.

I'd be happy with just a few slash commands!

    /abort
    /retry
    /ping
    /quit

When I'm just in a 'mood' and cruising the highways at 250mph, I'd rather just hit a one hotkey/macro on my keyboard and be done with it.

I've macro'd the Abort process but it only works about 85% of the time, due to the delays in the window.

Also, if any variation of these commands are already in the game, someone please share.

True, we need text chat so badly as there is none. 100% Irony incoming.
