    Another Assessment

I've sat for the last two nights playing for more than 5 hours each night. I'm left with the thought running through my mind of "that's it?" There are some things I like that have been changed. Drop rates are good right where they are at. The sponginess, while nowhere near fixed, has improved. The roaming bosses are entertaining enough in short bursts. TTK when dealing with groups of npcs is actually very nice for the most part. I found myself not needing ammo after clearing two groups of enemies, which is a major improvement imo.

But then I come back to how long it took to work on 1.4.

This is all there is to show for it? There are serious glitches and bugs that are being experienced by a lot of players(myself included.) Massive lag spikes, connectivity issues, menu issues, all of this should have been caught. But again, it wasn't. Or it was, and the team decided to push it out anyways. And sorry to all you "well it must be your set up because my PS4 works perfect" folks. Just because you're lucky enough to not be experiencing them, doesn't mean others are as well.

And that's just the technical side. Game side, weapon nerfs again force you to scrap everything you worked for with few exceptions. Drops, while noticeably increased, are now level relevant trash items. But trash gear nonetheless. TTK in some spots is perfect, in others it feels exactly the same pre 1.4, if not longer. Most notably when facing yellow armored npcs.

The DZ remains exactly the same, if not worse with the Banshee gear. Great job on that one boys.

I've been very loathe to just straight up give up on the game giving the financial investment I made. But the bottom line remains.

The game isn't fun. There's no endgame content. It's just a grind. Nothing more. At this point it is abundantly clear that neither Massive nor Ubisoft know what to do with this game. It was a fantastic idea destroyed by the narratives put in place by Massive.

No raid events, no special dungeons for season pass holders, no events at all for season pass holders except for two lousy supply drops each month. Nothing. Endgame consists of UG right now. And what is that but another separate grind?

The failures of Massive and Ubisoft in regards to TD will definitely enter into my mind when looking at future Ubisoft releases.

I completely agree with all the sentiments here.

Don't let it slam you in the back on the way out.

Seriously, though, financial investment? You bought a game. How many hours did you play? How much is that per hour again?

So - they changed the meta to put some fun back into the game. Did they break your "perfect build"?
Is this your first "MMORPG"? Yes, I know it's not a fullblown MMORPG - I am simplifying .- but most RPGs are one or more forms of grind.

If you hate the game, the developers and the producer - why are you still here? Just move on, already.

1.4 Is just to balance out everything before they release the DLCs and other contents. It was clearly emphasize by Massive in SoTG that the 1.4 is for re-balancing and not a new content.

Also, you don't expect everything will be fixed in just a span of days or so. PTS took a whole month because "we" were here to help them test the patch before releasing it. You guys always ask for the content, where its just a few days from the release of the patch

No offence intended but I think you missed the message in his post, yes they changed the meta to put fun back in the game (I completely agree) but deny as much as you want, there was no end game content before 1.4 update and there is no end game content after 1.4 update. If you are as you sound, fed up with hearing it, it's because so many people say so.

Well, honestly...what did you expect? This was never a new content patch (closest thing to new content was allowing LZ bosses to respawn on a timetable).

If you didn't have anything to do (or anything you wanted to do) before 1.4 came out, you won't have anything to do now, because the only thing that's changed is the underlying mechanics. This is the situation I find myself in -- the changes all seem okay in the exceedingly brief time I spent with them, but I still just signed in to collect my three season pass supply drops, and then signed out.

Update 1.4 was meant only to rebalance the core game and it was stated numerous times that PVP was not being addressed in this update (that's for a later update, probably update 1.5). If you were expecting new content or PVP fixes in this update, then you had the wrong idea about what this update was focused on.

Also there will always be bugs in every game no matter what. There is no such thing as a bug free game. Bugs are like real roaches, kill one and another one shows up eventually...you can never get rid of them fully. That's why I think they call them bugs in the first place lol.

I think he could have left out the complaining about the remaining bugs and the need to rebuild his character (basically) after the update, but again, as I posted above, he is noticing what a lot of people are noticing (including you it seems), there is no end game content, leaving you playing a better game mechanic on the same old repetition. I truly believe that some content they have already developed (pre end game) could have been put back in the game as a starting point.

You should dig up some of my old posts. I've said there is no real end-game content since 1.1, just various grinds for better gear. Personally, I've found the DZ grind to be the most entertaining grind, because of other people = randomness. No, I am not running around with gank squads, nor do I harass other players, but I will fight or run depending on my chances of survival. I didn't make it past level 20 in the UG, because that was so frakking boring. It probably still is, but perhaps the rewards per time spent makes it worth it now?

I've lived with the DZ stutter, but the more recent complete freeze ups have almost been the end of the game for me. Fortunately, it seems they have figured out why it happens.

The game still lacks new content. Stuff to do. Things to discover. I am not holding my breath for the future DLCs and expect them to reinvent the endgame - but hopefully Massive have learned a little over the last months - so who knows what the future holds.

I do happen to love the gameplay, and even more so in 1.4 - as it feels fresh and fun again - and if I didn't, I would simply leave without posting a eulogy over my immense disappointments.

Instead, I play way too much: http://divisiontracker.com/profile/xbox/Fuz-Fragstealer - and now I get to work on "the one and only build" for four tiers!
