When i construct lets say a temple, how come i can't place enemies in without a red flag on navigation mesh? Is there a workaround on this? Or am i just not constructing incorrectly. Totally frustrating when you spend so much time to find out it won't work.I have a base , put up walls, stairs and plenty of exits but no go.
Hahahaha! Great question, ugeely1!!!
My experience is this: there are very few points in a map where a "Full" bell tower can sit without that red cube firing up. I tried to get it at different times for over a year, and couldn't. One can get most of the way, but when you begin to add platforms and balconies - up will pop a red cube. I found several work-arounds which have given the AI full access to all parts of the tower, including access through the bottom floor via steps. You can see this in my map - "Bhadra's Bounty" - currently #7 on the TRL. This is a close copy of the Jalendu Temple Island mission, except that it uses the Bell Tower in place of the original brick temple. I have a second map with four towers all accessible, and am working on a re-make of a third which will get published in perhaps, three weeks. You will need more info to actually get one built, and the process is too long to explain here, so send me a pm, and we can figure out the details of how to get it done. Ok!
1st off, which are you having trouble with? The Island Temple or the BT Tower? Sometimes rotating and/or moving it helps to get rid of the red cube. Same with the De Pleur House. You should not be getting red mesh warnings though, only yellow when you validate. You can publish with yellow warnings but not red. About the red cube...if you place an AI inside the cube anywhere, he is stuck there and cannot take a single step. He will react to and shoot the player, he can see you, hear you but he cannot pursue. Just a point of information... There are 3 objects to the Island Temple, ... Island Temple Main Struct 01, Island Temple Main Struct 02, Island Temple Main Struct 03. Unfortunately 02 has been left out of the editor. The Section of the Navmesh is invalid is a yellow warning and will publish. If you get that warning and Display Navigation Mesh you can see the red cube but that is not a red warning.
Playing around a little more ,building with nav mesh on, i found i can build base and walls 2 stories and more with steps with a bit of moving around BUT putting a roof on,say a final temple shrine roof, instant red. Roofs are a problem. No, not a gameplay object in this case... it's there as i build. But i will get that as a bonus warning if i slip some Ai in. As you say i'm finding some things just don't stack up.
I'm assuming you are talking about Bahas Temples, the one just published. I downloaded it to look in the editor. I turned on the Nav Mesh and saw 2 red cubes in one temple and another small cube in a different temple. I got rid of all red cubes by selecting the entire temple and rotating them, no red cube in either one. Of course if you want them all squared up you have to do what you did. I didn't see any AI in the red cubes so it should play just fine.
