Before the "No more skins fix coding" comments, Art department DOES NOT do coding. All the art department has to do is make a skin and apply it to a gun. if it looks good they send it for approval. They don't do coding. With free DLC they need something to get funding for the game.

I love the game, but wish it wasn't built on the engine that it currently is. There are a host of visual issues I have with the game that would likely be easily fixed in other games. Maybe it's because my monitor is un-able to adjust its gamma, but the bright/dark contrast in the game murders my eyes, especially on the maps that are at dusk. I'm not a game dev, so I can't really say how easy it is to adjust those options, but I can say that my eyes definitely don't work the way they do in this game.

Of course I'm also an advocate of the mentality that immersion in MP is nothing but an enormous wall of frustration. I prefer my MP to be smooth and functional, not pretty and cluttered (ie no dynamic lighting, god rays, lens flare, particle effects, etc...). In Bad Company 2, I actually went into the INI files to manually change the game to run on DX9 to eliminate some of those effects. Unfortunately, R6S auto-enforces DX11; can't do that here

Just love the mechanics though. Very few games make me put 1000+ hours into them. When you get that out of me, you know you got a good game. The last game to get that kind of game time out of me was TF2, and that's going all the way back to 2003 now.

I'm the same.....the only other game that I have put anywhere near the hours I have on this was cod4. Love how tense it is, and no other shooter offers anything like it.

Even so the art designers are getting paid. Instead of worrying about paying people to design extra skins, dlc, and microtransactions Ubisoft needs to stop focusing on these trivial matters, and invest into more coders who can fix problems with the **** game.

Free? We aren't talking about free stuff here. Ubisoft has made a killing on microtransactions, dlc, and season passes.

They did this while the game has so many issues that desperately need fixed, and have done this for a year neglecting these issues. That's corruption. That's what's wrong. The focus should be on their fans, not on their greed.

People Have a choice to buy skins and season passes which you don't seem to grasp for some reason. It's their choice, they're not forced into it!!!! Someone never has to buy a single thing and will still get the maps FREE!!!!! That isn't corruption my friend. Unlike other games that force you to buy maps. I have bought masks and the season pass.....through choice and don't regret my decision one bit.

This game is the absolute worst Rainbow Six poser game ever.

    At least Lockdown functioned properly...

Let's keep this a positive thread and not get dragged into childish arguments. I'm going to start by saying from now on just ignore any post from mystic and I'm sure he'll get bored and move on. Just about to load siege up for a full night sesh and can't wait!!!

B.t.w. that leads me to my next assessment, the article never said...

    "R6S Best Shooter For Decade(s)"
-as dipicted by the shill OP.

If it did say decades that would put the game in Rainbow Six 3 territory, and Siege is blasted out of the water at that point.

It's pretty sad when an ancient game like Rainbow Six 3 is better by far, than a game that came out between a decade, or two after it.
w00f, i'm done being malcontent with Mystic, you're bats my man..

While i love the idea, the game isn't in a state where i can have fun playing tactically without squadmates i know...

Besides that point, my issue is more with the Community, and it shows in how hostile some forums members are, and how hostile ranked players sometimes are...

Reasons I agree the game does have remaining issues that need to be addressed and should have been a long time ago.

My main point is the game itself even along with its issues is still my favourite go to and has been for nearly a year now.

It baffles me how people say it has no future when stats say otherwise!

Take for example Battlefield 1, many critics and the majority of my friends disagreed with me when I said shooters like COD/Battlefield needed to revisit the WW era. Many couldn't see my point and said "if they do that it will not be successful and will be a big mistake"
A few years later and look at Battlefield 1, looks incredible and is a brilliant game and in my opinion was the shift the FPS needed.

As for IW/activision/treyarch etc I'm done with them. A once brilliant series has just gradually been ruined (in my opinion)

All the above series of games have issues and problems with hit detection and lag from time to time that's multiplayer gaming and nothing will ever change that regardless of how good the coding team are.

My point is that siege even with all its issues is still the only game that's trying something different.....one life......brilliant interior destruction......tactical......tense .......calm before the storm gameplay and where teamwork is needed to succeed (most of time)

No other game on the market offers this as of now.

Casual gamers/kids will pick up cod as its so easy to play and do well at. And that's the community I really struggle with at the mo. Siege on the other hand I've met some great mature people who don't shout and scream constantly and can hold a decent conversation.

    Phew glad that's done.
