Veteran Gamers observation of of this game

I've been playing games on more platforms for longer than most of you have been alive. I think my first computer game other than tic tac toe, checkers and chess, was a text based game on an old 8088 pc with no hd and two 5 1/4" floppy drives called Zork?

Anyway, my point is I have a lot of experience playing games of all kinds. Not only playing, but for a period in my life when gaming was hitting its heyday and games were in development everywhere I was able to not only join some great early beta testing teams, but alpha testing teams too. I even found my way into a couple of gaming manuals as being part of those testing teams.

Point being - I like to think I know what I'm talking about when I speak about a game. I almost never speak about a game in a public forum. Unless that game really bugs me like The Division really bugs me!

First off the game is directed towards forced grouping, it's incredibly hard and doesn't scale to a solo player very well at all.

Next up is the game mechanics are all screwed up, who ever heard of a soldier who couldn't kneel or go prone or who would constantly pop his head up when reloading his weapon? Moving between cover is a chore at best, as is hiding behind cover and then staying hidden after taking a shot. You can't easily pop up, shoot, then pop back into cover without a lot of manual dexterity: really frustrating!!

Picking up loot also takes way too long when using the take all X option in the heat of battle if more than one thing dropped that you need to pick up.

I also found that I was being shot through cover time and time again when I couldn't shoot them through the same type cover.

Super marksman with a pistol, being shot from a distance time and time again by people who are holding a pistol sideways just does not add up?

Invincible soldiers - armor maybe, but when you empty a full clip from a m16 into their face and they keep coming at you, something's not right?

I want this game to be fun, playable and enjoyable for both groups and solo people. I don't want to jump on the game and be frustrated the entire time I play it until I get so sick of it I log off and jump onto infinite warrior beta or another beta or game. Know what I mean?

Well, that's when 1.4 comes in and addresses many of these issues. Dropping on Tuesday? for all platforms.

Just an FYI there is a major update coming this Tuesday that is addressing many of the complaints you have. The game will now be much more solo friendly and NPC health and damage have been totally reworked. Enemies are not nearly as bullet spongy as they used to be and will die in a much more reasonable amount of time. As for crouching and going prone that is not changing anytime soon since it goes against the games core mechanics.

I can remember playing zork on the school computers.

You like to add things up?

    1) CEO said game play for solo would be very good

    2) game never scaled for solo to group making solo much harder and group much easier

    3) game lost more solo players after 2 months than it has total players playing today. solo player base was reported to be largest % of players.

    4) months go by with same bug/glitch/exploit/cheat not being fixed

    5) they said bug/glitch/exploit/cheat would not be worked on in 1.4

    6) they erase bug report list because they say 1.4 will fix many of them

Whats it all mean? I sorta think the thing called 1.4 has been many months in the works and working on b/g/e/c at that point would have not made sense because of the amount of code changes.

Kind of ironic that you go to great lengths to try and prove that you know what you are talking about, and yet, you seem oblivious to the fact that a major update drops in just 2 days( from thread creation) that has huge, game changing changes.

    Gotta love the internet.

Cheaters? If I'm PvE as most of TD players, how cheaters affect us? I understand that in "PvP" it is problem, but there is minorityin PvP as TD have no real and fail PvP.
