Looks like we're stuck with an AI team with personalities. Personally, I was hoping to build my own team, specifically having a female AI teammate as a stand-in for when my brother and his wife join in and replaces the AI.
Not sure how I feel on having each AI member assigned a particular role either. Assault, Engineer, Sniper, and Support. How is this going to work if I have 2 friends join in and both want to be engineers or snipers? Do I lose an Engineer or Support specialist if two friends go sniper and I go assault? I need some clarification on that.

I'd be more concerned of the actual gameplay being a casual frankenstein monster made from Far Cry and GTA.
I wish people on here would stop saying that. The game is almost definitely in the beginning stages of crunch. There will be no new assets, there will be no new animation, there will be no new features or tweaks to existing stuff. They are cramming what they've got it, bug fixing like billy-o and trying to get the graphics and networking code working as required together with the platform specifics constraints and localisation.Originally Posted by Sp--pyBrown Go to original post
I've worked on AAA games for years. What we have been seeing these past few months, is what we're getting. It's not going to be any better than that. Which is why I'm already so bitterly disappointed; just like I was with what they've done to R6.
But that's what we get when consoles dominate the landscape and twenty somethings who grew up on dumbed down games (GRFS / GRAW - I'm looking at you) and playstations, are the ones 'designing' games.

Providing it's better than a certain other Tom Clancy"property" I might be interested, however I'm gonna probably wait a while after release before getting this.Originally Posted by Sp--pyBrown Go to original post
Between FC:Primal, R6Siege and the Division I'm no longer as likely to purchase stuff by Ubi without seeing metacritic player reviews.
I'm confused and annoyed by this, but speculation with no information or context is unfair and a bit reckless. With that said though...Ubisoft you've REALLY got some explaining to do. I'm starting to get irritated that we still don't know anything about how the AI work, what the squad commands look like and/or operate, or the full extent of team customization. These bios give the impression that team customization isn't available. We are only a few short months before release and we still have no clue how anything works when you are playing solo instead of with friends. These little bios send confusing and mixed signals to a fanbase that has nothing to go on.
Please fix this situation.
What is there to "fix"? What have you seen from Ubi Soft from the last ten years that makes you think this marketing scheme isn't deliberate? Ubi Soft strives off being the author of confusion and obscurity for their games up until the last minute of release. Don't you know that?Originally Posted by DanHibikiFanXM Go to original post

I won't jump to conclusions and I won't engage in hyperbole. The lack of information is a problem that they need to address.
They could address it, but in Ubi Soft's weird mind, there may not be a problem to address in the first place, which is my point. This is how they have done business since 2006, when they flushed the Tom Clancy name down the toilet. I wouldn't be holding my breath on this magically changing. Consumers can make a real 'informed decision' with their wallet, by not buying their crap anymore, by doing as I have done since 2006.Originally Posted by DanHibikiFanXM Go to original post
It's really confusing. Are they creating just another open world pew pew GTA/Far Cry shooter or are they making something that's actually interesting? Here are some quotes from an another interview, just to confuse you a little more:
In order to recreate the Ghost fantasy, we want to recreate the mood, and what it’s like to be a group of four Black Ops operatives behind enemy lines. An important fact is that the Ghosts wear not only military equipment, but also civilian clothing. This allows them to blend in with the environment, which is just as important a concept to us as recreating a “behind the lines” look.To me, as a Ghost, you have to wear suitable shoes, thick socks, solid fatigues, several coats, and a soft shell. But when you’re in the jungle, the climate changes. You’re in a temperate but humid zone, so you have to dress accordingly. They’ll have to choose their equipment according to the environment and use lightweight, quiet, and durable gear.
Maybe he's just talking about creating the aesthetic and maybe I'm reading between the lines a little too much but I get the picture that they're trying to make an immersive game, while only showing us the pew pew scoot scoot -footage. Did they fail to recreate that "Ghost fantasy" and have to resort to pushing out a generic shooter or are they still working on it? Did the executives force them to make it more casual? What is the reason behind this comm blackout?
>inb4: "They don't have time, they're busy making the game!"
They have PR people with all the time in the world to document and publish whatever the team is creating. This is intentional.
>inb4 "Laurent is executing the classic Ubisoft maskirovka bullsh*t"
Yeah, I'm assuming he's actually talking truth here. Maybe I'm wrong.

P.S. What is this? Am I finally posting some actual, real questions? Yes. Answer them.
