1.4 - Same Old (UPDATED)
After reading the latest state of game it became clear the game won't be changing, this cause the developers way of thinking hasn't changed, I'm not even going to bother to re-install the game when 1.4 launches.
As the biggest topic of discussion recently, difficulty is the focus for this final PTS week. It’s clear that there are two strong opinions on the subject right now, those who thought the PTS week 3 was fine and those who thought it was too easy. Our goal is to find a solid middle ground.
Instead of giving us the option (easy, hard) the developers are still trying to please everyone on middle ground, there's no middle ground when it comes to difficulty, and we can expect the NPCs to remain bollet sponges on 1.4, meaning the game will be same compared to 1.3.
I'm not even going to mention the Dark Zone, that hasn't changed at all on 1.4 to help PvE players (this after thousands of threads and complaining about it in the last year), they keep forcing everyone to go rogue (now with even more bonuses).
This is a personal opinion, so I suggest the kids who can't take it to go flame elsewhere, anyone else who is mature enough to make a discussion with valid points to make it worth even consider 1.4 go ahead.
The entire PTS that was supposed to be a place were they would be listening to "Returning" players, ended up infested with "Current" players instead, making it pointless. Those same "Current/Veteran" players that came in this thread and many like it to just offend OP (me in this case) and say everything is fine.
Has the game improved in 1.4?
Yes!
Has the game improved enough to increase and keep a steady player base?
No, the game has improved but still has (some of the) same old problems.
Will I be part of the next PTS to try and improve this game?
We'll see how it plays out, probably not.
We need,
1. Two balance trees (one for PVP and another for PVE).
Something most games in our age do to keep balance and please everyone, trying to balance both in the same three will only annoy both sides with each update.
2. If we wanna make the game casual friendly, stop adding penalties for playing on lower difficulty.
On lower difficulties the game is more grindy, it makes no sense to have casual players playing on a grindy environment.
3. To accomodate the lower grind on lower difficulty, make two variants of gear.
On Final Fantasy XIV there's END GAME GEAR and RELIC END GAME GEAR.
The END GAME GEAR is for casual players.
The RELIC END GAME GEAR is a stronger variant for Veteran players that requires more grind to get.
A system like that makes total sense, cause casual players get to enjoy all the content. (It is forbided to make content you can only complete with RELIC GEAR).
4. Dark Zone concept needs to go, it's neither PVE nor PVP, it's a Grief Zone.
I won't be going further into this cause there's thousands of great ideas and feedback dating back to The Division beta that has been ignored by the developers.
Do I believe the developers will listen and/or try to implement any of the above ideas?
Sure.. Jesus will come down from heaven the same day.
I've been playing The Division since the Closed BETA, so bare with me if I have low faith in this game and/or the developers.
PS: Most of the quotes I ignore are due to being off-topic and/or flame and are instantly reported, don't get offended if I didn't respond directly to you when you provived a proper and/or mature argument, it probably means someone else already gave you a proper answer or I simply agree with your argument with nothing to add.
