I was offered the "Medium Tank Upgrade" in the store and it stated it would give "+5 to max fuel, +5 to fuel refill". I don't know what the refill part means. Does that mean that every time I would get +1 fuel every 3-ish minutes I would instead get +5 or +6? Or only when I watch adds to get more fuel? Or when I level and get my fuel completely filled again, it would go to 55 instead of 50? Has anyone bought it? Thanks.

My in-game description says "+5 to Max Tank and Fuel Refill". So you just get full fuel refill one time when you buy it and +5 upgrade for fuel tank. Nothing more. All tank upgrades are about that.

If you are concerned about fuel I suggest you rather spend your gems on The Platinum Knight outfit.
Though you need to earn some platinum medals first.
