Solo activities on Challenging World Teir 4

So it just took me about 1-2 hours doing the daily challenge mission at world tier 4. I had about gear score 205 when i started the activity ( the activity was the Virologist story mission) and it is defiantly not scaled in such a way where someone can solo it without having to deal with a lot of BS. Medic units dropping healing stations that can heal armor? like that artificially inflates the TTK way too much and it makes it way more difficult then it has to be. Shotguns have an insane amount of range still and it felt like I was getting killed in stupid and unfair ways. I think what should be done is that the medic stations should not be able to heal the armor of the enemies and only health other wise you can drop someone to low health just for them to heal all the way back plus the armor that was destroyed.

As intended according to Ubi - number of NPC's do not scale according to group size. Agree though regarding medics and the like. Submit a bug report.

Not in agreement with not scaling NPC numbers to solo play. I just finished a HVT mission and was confronted with six elite rushers with golf cubs. They just swarmed me, leaving me running around backwards, trying to stay within the mission perimeter so that I wouldn't fail and hope that I didn't back into an elite with a gun. I survived, but by the skin of my teeth and two medkits later.

I did the same hvt, and thought that the enemy balance was almost perfect. It supplied the right balance of "oh sh1t" moments, and ease of the first waves.

I was at gs 229 with tacticians (which is NOT an advisable solo set) with almost no min-maxing, and not all my weapon talents unlocked, and I thought the challenge for a solo player was much much better than week 2, or 1.

To OP's point, I can't imagine launching a challenge mission on t4 at 205 would be anything but... well... a challenge! At that gear score, just getting through would be an accomplishment, and a trial.

They give you plenty of ways to gear up enough to do it, including even s&d missions!

No offense, but it seems very silly to come on the boards to complain that you can't solo some of the tougher activities, on the toughest difficulty, at the minimum requirements for that world tier. Gear up more before you can say that its not soloable. Please.

I do absolutely agree that the medics are ridiculously OP. They have to be changed, asap. Regenerating armor is not good, to begin with, but its just insane right now.

My main concern was more with the medics, I feel like if the medics were not as over powered as they currently are, then it wouldn't have been such a hard time to get through it. I do understand that I was a little undergeared; don't get me wrong, however with the medics regenerating armor for everyone in the med station area makes it even more difficult then it really needs to be. Even geared out at 229 in week two there were some issues and in order to go from tier 3 to 4 to get better GS, then you need to play on challenge no matter the activity

The balance is alot better than what it was week 2. however I do share some slight concerns with number of NPCs you have to handle at times in challenging mode solo. It is very difficult to handle 6/7 NPCs all at once with them all shooting at you and given how you barley have to stick out before they are shooting, you its tough to be tactical and move around.

I also can only be effective if i stack survivability because other wise i get overwhelmed by NPS quickly (I rune first aid, Support station and healng sig)

I did complete Russian in about 45 minutes today with 2 deaths which is a lot better than the 90 minutes and 12+ deaths from last week and perhaps it will improve as i get better geared. I was only gear score 210. 4 pred and 2 HE.

I want to get challenge modes down to 15/20 minutes otherwise I'm better off doing other things and only doing this if i want an actual challenge and im not trying to get loot.

At gear score 205 you are just inside the world tier 4 bracket so I would think that running a challenge would be fairly difficult unless your gear is totally min/max stats.

Yes the medics are a pain in the rear end and require some thought to take them out but it is possible and yes I agree they do heal maybe a bit too much per pulse of their stations.

However trying to dive straight into the top of the non incursion content as soon as it becomes available is going to be rough as hell.

My advice is to pop a few search and destroy and Daily targets to get some upgrades and it will become easier. Note I'm not saying "easy" but it will not be as nasty for you especially as your stat numbers will go up a lot even from 2-3 bits of 229 gear.

    Not true

Any activity in tier 4 will get you 229 gear score, so that includes

    Underground
All caches (including the ones that cost 200k creds)
    Daily HVT
    Search and Destroy Missions
    Random High end drops

this is before you even look at main missions on any difficulty beyond Normal.

I solo'd challenging Lexington, an UG and the Protect hostages mission (which is todays daily challenge mode mission). It was spot on. Really hard at times, but possible with tactics and some improvisation.

    Its is really good now.

    well done Massive devs.

Only issue i had was that i received 4 204 weapons (all handguns even worse) on Lexington. And one of the 3 enemies on that protect the hostages mission (today's daily challenge mission) did not drop anything.

but overall, this was one of the best experiences ive had in the Division for a while. Cant wait for 1.4. Its almost there.

oh, and i still had restored as a talent on one or two of my weapons. thought that was gone.

It is much better. Im goig to try and improve my gear and try it out again so see if that make it a better experience. Right now I have to run lots of heals. I would like to get to a point where i can mix it up a bit more.
