I'll be blunt: I've yet to play the tactical shooter with competent AI. I want to play Wildlands, but between work, marriage, social life - multiplied four ways - it's just shy of impossible to get four friends together more than once a week or two.
My point is, when I'm playing with only one or two friends, I'd just like to play with them. I don't want to babysit AI. I don't want to have to constantly tell them where to be, who to shoot, or revive them when they go down. When I play with friends, I'd like the option to only play with friends, please.
Don't adjust the difficulty, number of enemies, etc - just let me turn on a setting that makes the AI companions disappear during co-op gameplay, please.
Hey there,
that is absolutely my point. Is it really necessary to have 2 AI Ghosts in my Team, when I want to play with my friend? I don't want to tell the AI all the time where to go, where to stay, not to shoot, to shoot and so on... I also don't want the AI to act independently, how will the AI know if I want to do the stealth approach or not?
So, is there a minimum of a chance of playing without AI?
Trust me, you'll want all the help you'll need !
The game has been done to be played by a team of 4, 1P 3AI, 2P 2AI, 3P 1AI, 4P. and so the difficulty is set for 4.
You may ask for challenge, you'll get it but I think the devs set it like that not otherwhise. Maybe that can change, the game is still work in progress but the devs have a specific vision of the game.
That would be a dumb a*s vision then. If there's literally no progress on the AI (like there hasn't been in a decade), I'd very much like to be able to leave the AI back at the safehouse. Nothing worse than having to babysit a teammate while working on something that requires a little finesse...Originally Posted by M_Ulukai Go to original post

Few examples:
Mass Effect games where companions follow you just fine and do their own thing. I can count on one hand the times I ssued commands to my companions during the franchise.
GRAW just give AI follow order and it most of the time follows you from a safe distance and opens fire if needed. Me and my friends use Allen as an extra life mostly when cooping the campaign.
Lolssi, I don't recall having an easy time with my AI teammates with GRAW 1, at least not on PC? They were not that dumb but plenty of time I told them to take cover and defend and all of a sudden they were getting in front of me and my line of fire succumbing to a quick death from the enemy. But they were necessary as the enemy ai had eagle eye on PC. Then GRAW 2 was a bit less dumb but the annoying "yes Captain", "We're here Captain" every couple of seconds was enough to want to cut my veins LOL.
So yeah, if the teammate ai will be dumber than a flower pot, I rather take my chances playing the campaign with no help from them.
I'll take my chances, as I highly doubt that two computers will be all that helpful. If two humans can't do it, I suspect that one human and three computers couldn't.
As for other games, most aren't as tactical as this. Mass Effect, for example, I beat on insanity without giving any command beyond "go here." And that leads to another point - this is an open world game. I can't have my AI make a useful approach like a human (come in via parachute, enter from across town, move and cover me with a sniper rifle, etc.); point being, it's simplified AI that will have to stay in one spot or follow me around constantly.
I don't feel like my request is much - I'm not looking for extensive rebalancing, I'm not looking for their complete removal. I'd just like to see a toggle to remove AI teammates.
What do you mean... plenty of interviews have been shown from people telling us how good the ai companions will beOriginally Posted by DanHibikiFanXM Go to original post
Ok, that was a stab but yes... we need more details and not just the fact that we will get teammates when playing solo.
