General feeling about Levelling up world tiers (Too easy, too quick)

    Hi,
I've been playing on the PTS for a couple of days now. I've got my initial character up to World Tier level 4 and it seemed to be far too quick to get there. Took a while to get from tier 1 to tier 2, but for 3 and 4 it happened really quickly. Good loot drops seem to happen far too quickly. Its no longer an ooo moment when a gear set piece. Also having loot crates of whatever variety having guaranteed high end/gear set means that you gear up too quickly also, having them contain other things instead of gear like for example xx intel or phoenix credits but no items or mods would make it more of a fun thing to look for.

    Cheers,

    Jas

I disagree. i approached the test and tried to play as a new player would, I avoided buying my way up and didn't re-calibrate anything, I'm using only what I picked up, I think it's just right for the new player.

The problem with us testing progression is that we all know way too much, I myself must have played all of the missions several hundred times, they hold no surprises for me and I know how to handle the various NPC's and factions. I know what to look at when I get gear and what to do with it. A fresh player will not have this Knowledge.

Looking at it through those eye's as much as I could I see this being just about the right amount of challenge, if they progress at a steady rate they should find it fun, do too much to fast and they will get spanked.

It strikes me that many here have not done what I have done and tried to race to T4 in the shortest possible time and with they're knowledge of the game, of course they found it easy.

Ya this was done on purpose to bring people back and not have them quitting before endgame and it's just about right the endgame however still needs some work. Bullet sponges are back on HVT's and Missions.

Please don't forget that this is something that new player will do four times over (hopefully), for four of his characters.

If anything, I would remove any limitations and allow fresh GS163 players to go straight to Tier 4 if they want. But I understand why that might be confusing and frustrating for a fresh player. So, as a compromise, this seems to be just right time required to level up your Tier.

I would actually compare it with leveling your alts. I'm sure everyone had very different levels 1-30 progression for their first and their fourth character. Tiers 1 to 4 should be observed in the same manner - take some time to level up from Tier 1 to Tier 2, but less time for each next level should be less and less, for all characters.

I was going to say that earlier, it's no different than 1-30 Massive fixed it and people still don't understand. Same with the please nerf the drops threads people I guess had no idea what Massive was hoping to accomplish with the 1.4 redo of everything.

I read somewhere that loot has been artificially increased in the first week of the PTS to allow people to get to tier 4, hopefully this is true and the experience from tier 1 through 4 in 1.4 will take much longer.

I disagree. I think people to need to get rid of this mentality of getting a gear set drop as being an "ooohhh" moment. With the amount of rng and all of the different gear set items, we need to be getting a lot of drops. That's the only way that you're going to be able to put together different builds, let alone one optimized build, unless of course, you have hours and hours to play, which many of us don't.

Gankers can only hope, but for the rest of us we will take the features exactly as they promised. Did you watch the SOTG? Have you been following why they are redesigning things?

The world tiers are end-game not the same levelling up experience you'd find in the first 30.
World tiers are a way to make the game easy or hard depending upon your mood.
The content is the same across all tiers, except the difficulty and rewards are different.

So you should be able to level up in the world tiers as quickly or slowly as you like.

I think Massive have got the balance of the World Tiers correct

This is correct Massive stated they introduced them to give us a feeling of the 1-30 leveling experience.
