For the future.
I think anyone should be able to create tournaments and they should be user created content.
i.e. A user has a tournament creation interface that they can use to select tracks, add description, name etc.
The user would then publish the tournament that any other player can subscribe to and play and like.
Players could then see popular tournaments to play and also the reward players get could be based on popularity or number of players who have submitted a time.
This would hopefully offer varied tournaments if the game has a reasonable user base.
Hi Booped,
Thanks for your input, that is one of the discussions we are having.
The challenge behind this feature is related to the design of the metagame:
- What is the reward for the player when he plays a tournament?
- How do we ensure the economy can be balanced? (if you have an infinite amount of activity, it is hard to balance... same problem as Fusion and UGC tracks)
That is the type of question we are having now and that are not as simple as they look.
Cheers,
I always think recognition for being good at something is a good reward in games.
i.e. if you win a tournament that is popular and has many players you get more points than if you win a tournament with not many players.
If a tournament does not have enough players it does not award points.
The top % of players get tags next to their name as the TF tag in evo.
I think different tags should be used for being good at global leaderboards and a different tag for being good at running TC tracks and building popular TC tracks.
I also think some people like the current tournament where you play one track after the other, but some are put off, it would be good if when setting up a tournament you could select to allow players to play each track individually as many times as they like and the total time is the aggregation of those times.
It would also be good to allow players to select the duration of the tournaments.
It would be good to have the old evo style tournaments but these are not related to fusion style tournaments at all, they were more like tour events/championships.
I want to know when each season ends and is this the only 1 possible way to get acorns free? Kits which you can buy by acorns are impossible to get nowadays because tourneys have disappeared and for me as a new player it seems very very bad. I want to get assassin for example, but I don't want to buy it by real money. I want just play and enjoy the game with the stuff I like more. Can they remove acorns and make all skins be able to get by "dollars", which you can get from every track in a single company? Because it is very silly that there are a money that you can't earn! There were only 8 seasons and now it's a 9th but acorns were added a long time ago so I am sure that this way of earning doesn't deserve to pay attention to it. Thanks for advance for answering![]()
This totally defeats the purpose of tournaments. As you have it outlined, it is literally no different than speed running individual tracks. Summing times is a completely artificial way of generating the exact same information we already have. Consecutive track playing, which our current tournament format is all about, emphasizes consistency. This allows for a different playstyle than traditional speedrunning, which is all about repetition grinding for the perfect run. The tournament format you have suggested should NOT be implemented, and would completely devalue tournaments to nothing more than carbon copies of traditional single player speedrunning.Originally Posted by booped Go to original post
I was not suggesting the traditional tournaments should be replaced, just the option to have a different format, that allows speed running a selection of tracks where results are displayed without any manual adding up, would just be a better way of managing the OTHG HLC for example.Originally Posted by Ch4er0n Go to original post
Permanently slash the prices of the items in the shop? Considering that people have lost a way of earning Acorns.Originally Posted by UbiSkyBear Go to original post
Unless people play the Multiplayer, and receive a high enough ranking, (and win enough acorns), it becomes almost impossible to buy the majority of things. (unless they resort to buying the 'Currency Packs'..) Also, as Eno stated, Trials Fusion isn't receiving any more DLC, and the game is almost 30 months old, it seems like lowering the prices permanently on the items in the store would be a nice gesture if anything.
I don't know about everyone else, but on some of the tourneys I had to take a couple extra steps to redeem the acorns. Had about ~850 that I just found out about a few weeks ago.
It wasn't extremely obvious and the other acorns seemed to redeem automatically when i clicked the "link" on the notification center.
Just suggesting that it might be a result of the notifications themselves not working properly, but the earned acorns may still be available.
We'll be happy to take this feedback into consideration for right now. At the moment, we don’t have plans to lower the cost of premium items. We had a 50% off sale over the summer and it is likely we will have more sales in the future.Originally Posted by onesimpleclik Go to original post
