    Loot Drop Rate Almost Perfect

I believe the current loot drops for progressing from Tier 1 to Tier 4 are almost perfect in the1.4, PTS.

We have to consider there are two different types of players who will be using the Tier system once it goes live:

Veteran Players - This includes players like me who have stuck with the game and have a fairly robust cache of, and alternate characters decked out in what will be 229 gear, both HE and Gear Sets. Our goal is going to be to jump immediately to Tier 4 and min/max our stats and builds.

New Players / Alt Accounts - These players will be leveling past 30, to obtain the highest end-game gear which does not usually include min/maxing that gear along the way because it's temporary gear used only to reach the highest end-game gear.

So, keeping the drop rates high across all tiers allows new players and those min/maxing at higher tiers to experiment with different builds and play styles which is one of the goals of 1.4.

If there is any criticism, or compromise, I would state, perhaps limit Teal Gear Sets to only Elites, Veterans and Bosses? Normal (red) trash mobs shouldn't drop Teal Gear Set pieces?

This would create more balance and it would also adhere to traditional fiction that leaders possess better gear than their foot soldiers.

They want HE = Teal (gear sets), so....

3rd type of player might be Casual Player. I think it is a mistake to assume all players will want to play in tier 4 if they just want a casual, non-challenging evening of running around shooting s@$#

It's not any more challenging in tier 4 than in tier 1,2,3 when you get the gear. Which you will get in like 5 hours.
If you need to drop a tear then... well that's like playing the game on very easy.

I think possibly they are a bit high. I found it very easy/fast to go from tier 1 to 4 and was even able to skip tiers.. .

in the DZ right? Running normal missions doesnt drop much more in quantity than the vanilla game. .

edit. after playing more and reaching tier 4, i feel that the drop rates needs an increase in world missions and a slight drop in the DZ where all the hardcore guys are moaning about too much loot (imagine that - too much loot in a loot based game with huge RNG on RNG).

i only have 7 items kept in my inventory. and that's after leveling up to tier 4. that's not quite the generosity i imagined with the bearded guy from Massive talked about generosity.

another thing is the lower level loot still keeps dropping, this is loot that is a tier or two lower than my current tier. why?

Played 5 hours yesterday and barely got into tier 2. Either drop rates have changed or I am incredibly unlucky.

i might be unlucky as well or the loot drop is messed up i killed between 20 and 25 mobs or elites before one would drop any loot or did one mission and the only thing that would drop loot would be in the named npc is it just me or something else. just curious

I believe it's pretty good where it is now. First 3 hours i only found 2 HE items on L86 and one chest piece. Then all of the sudden I had like 5 drops in 30 minutes. I blame RNG.

To Me this feels pretty good man.

I should also add the UG is the best place to farm stuff right now, it does need a makeover however and some variety in mission types and locations. Could really use some above ground stuff..yes I know I know Underground and all but.....

What are you all talking about. Drop rates are so high it's like raining, lol... Played for only 2 hours yesterday, Go almost through the whole tier gear score range. Got several teal items and loads of HE. The other guys (Who have bought the game on Uplay and not on Steam) got to Tier 4 and have 229 gear score after only 8 hours. What's the point of progression system, if you can progress through it during a weekend? Not to mention that Incursions, UG and other fun things may have no point anymore. Not with these drop rates. It needs to be decreased across the board in my opinion. And maybe make crazy drop rates like these in challenging missions. Give some work to do. Or else game will get old really fast once again.

EDIT: And let's not forget you get Proficiency cache quite often.
