For all the new guys who thinks we need cover system......

hey there... this is getting a bit boring isn't it? "We want cover system!","GR is not a GR nor a Tom Clancy game without cover system",yada-yada-yada-yada...

let's talk serious here, it's not really much of a problem isn't it? we don't have cover system in Battlefield, but most people played it like it has cover system, like sticking to cover when under fire, have a methodical muzzle awareness peeking, and else. ArmA doesn't have cover system, yet it could brag for being one of the most realistic and tactical shooter in the market(ArmA is obviously not ultra-realistic, but that argument is for another thread), my point is, why would you even have a cover system? your brain automatically adapts to it anyway! just play more! it'll become a habit, hell, I even do real tactical cover in CoD out of habit! and maybe some of you says "you're an old timer! not like us newbies!". look at my profile, I've been here probably for just around 3 years at most, and those first year I spend it on GRP forums, not here, so yeah, I'm also a noob/newbie/scrub, but that's not a reason for me to make excuses for "lack of cover system", I play more, develop a technique, a protocol, then after a while it becomes a habit, an instinct if you will, so no reason for any of you saying it's not tactical enough, CoD can be a tactical game if you played it slowly and methodically instead of running and gunning, and seriously, the campaign is more enjoyable if you played it that way. so.... get over it, get used to it, adapt, or get out of here and go back to the easy mode

Being able to see what's behind a wall with TPS does not feel tactical or even immersed in the game but I have been told by many here that I am wrong so I guess you are right... no cover system is necessary

Next we won't have or need any weapons in Shooter games because all we will need is to use the Force to kill the enemy LOL

okay, fine, you want the utmost realistic gameplay out of Ghost Recon with awesome graphic and FPV... the game already exist, called ARMA... what? I'm wrong? ARMA has fancy tech? yes they have, realistic radio comm interference by in-game distance? check, virtually unlimited customization? definitely, physics? not real life accurate at some point, but most of the time it adheres to the logic, FPV? there's servers that only allow FPV, how about online gameplay? I've seen over 100 gamers on a server, so it's good, what about gameplay? you can create your own mission, so you can never be bored, controls? lots and lots of binding'

it's cool for Ghost Recon being ultra realistic, but remember, there's other games that is ultra realistic, it makes GR like a copy of ARMA if we really aspire to make it ultra realistic like we all wanted, cover system? yeah it's not even a staple of GR anymore, EVERY TPS use cover system nowdays, besides, what does the cover system do to make it more tactical or realistic? only the animation of you sticking your side to a wall, and that's not really that realistic anyway, plus you could still see the enemy that's behind the cover, so nope, cover system is just a gimmick on animation and that's it, you want GR to be first person? be my guest, I'm fine with it

I think a cover system similar to The Last of Us and MGS Phantom Pain would be nice.

Definitely do not need a cover system. Cover systems inherently make the player feel safe which you should never feel when you're in combat. You want the player to feel tension and challenge, not just, if I press this button and time my shots I'm unstoppable

The best Ghost Recon games did not have a cover system.

Laying or crouching behind things IS a cover system! We don't need some faulty snap-to-cover system messing with the fluidity of the game. Anyone with half a brain can crouch behind a ledge without needing a ridiculous cover mechanic to do it for them. Cover systems are for babies who need their hand held.

Why are we going to the extreme? where did I say or we said that we want Ultra super realistic?

This tells me that you believe that being able to see thru walls or around walls is ok and realistc.

No it does not... it makes Ghost Recon like the Original Ghost Recon, nothing else.

I don't want to be grabbed by the hand and put me against the wall like in Future Soldier or animate my character running cover to cover with a simple click of a button, that is NOT and the opposite of what I am talking about when I say we need a cover system.

Allow me, the one playing the game and using my brains, to crouch behind a wall to take cover when needed. Allow me, to peek around a wall to see if I am about to be blown as soon as I turn, things like this will make your heart beat faster, make you feel immerse in the game and not run thru around a corner because you already saw, miraculously I might add, from a good distance back that there were no enemies because you are using Third person view.
