    Dominion 2.0

So after reading quite some posts I decided to give my 2cents and ideas.
These are my opinions from playing and reading the forum.

    Biggest issues raised imho:
    • Maps are too small or unbalanced
    • Minions dont do a lot
    • Not much incentive to defend points
    • People roaming in groups leads to ganks
    • Taking points too quick
    • Maps get stale due to lack of teamplay/strategy

So like myself it seems most found Citadel to be the best map. The main reason was due to it's size it felt positioning was more important and thus rewarding. It also seemed the most balanced one in terms of pathways and spawnpoints of each side. But it also has to do that the issues of ganking and not holding points mentioned weigh a bit less heavy here cause of the increased distances.

If the other maps were a little bigger this might also be the case. Because of the size the problem of being too fast at checkpoints is more obvious. Also the many enviromental traps are more apparant in these maps. Especially Overwatch this was the case. Point C was one big shove fest and also the bridges resulted in little duels and many throws.
I enjoy the traps but not so many as it is at Overwatch Point C, there is pits and spiked walls together... I havent had a normal fight there in whole of alpha I think.

The minions on point B are cool but in the end don't do much. I think minions can play a bigger part.
First idea would be to have extra points in the map, like a Warhorn or something that when taken over will spawn more minions.
This way people need to move around more and balance on point B with minions will be fluctuating.
Standard spawns 20 minions, with warhorn spawns 50% extra or something. Both sides can have a Warhorn so there can be balance but it has to be taken first.
Also I'd love to see more minions around on the map. And maybe even after taking Point A and C minions also spawn there.

BTW please DEVS have minions run in from a door/gate instead of spawning out of thin air. It just looks silly.

Next to that I think the time it takes with 1 player should be the time it takes when with 2. With 1 player takes twice as long.
If taking a point is harder (due to minions) and takes more time, giving one up won't be such a viable option.
Making defending them much more important.

Just some ideas from the top of my head.

I see what you mean. Though I meant that a few minions spawn on Point A or C, like 5 or 6. Maybe even with one of the Elite mobs you mention.
That way there is a buffer to take over a point, it basicly comes down to the same thing as a longer timer except it's more fun.

Also it makes defending more viable again as 1 defending player can hold his own against 2 attackers cause he has some AI friends to help him.

Bigger maps will bring the problem of running simulator and frustrating deaths.
