First, I would like to apologize for my english, also, I only tried this alpha on Xbox One.
Before anything, I would say the alpha was very stable on my console. There was some framerate issues on Dominion and some laggy lobby (due to player connection, that's obvious) but overall, nothing to complain about.
About the combat : after a short try on every class and looking the tutorial video, I choose to main the conqueror class.
And first of all, playing him was absolutly badass, I had a lot of fun in Brawl when playing 1 vs 2 players (happened a lot since people were dc or ragequit and replace by a bot).
I find myself being a decent conqueror and had no problems with the balance, maybe just with the Orochi's storm rush : when they backdash and immediatly attack, that's not a counter, that"s not requiring any skills. They should have to charge that attack in my opinion.
Against a warden or raider, I would consider it fair for them if their power attack could chain against a defensive conqueror : it seems logical, because of weapon's weight, to break chain combo against the katana of the orochi or the berserker axe. But in my opinion, a conqueror would have to "parry" (not just using guard) against a power attack of a warden or a raider's axe. Same thing against another conqueror : the fact that you can't chain a power attack combo when they stay in guard make the combat very, very slow.
Generally speaking, I would like to see more "impact" for heavy weapons. That was kinda bothering me to see a orochi could just guard a warden, a raider or a conqueror, they should have some kind of stun, maybe making them going back a little.
Also, I like the conqueror's "zone attack", but maybe we should be able to move (very very slowly of course) just for the pressure and putting fear into our ennemy
Last complain, not about the combat but game modes : I reallywould like to see a friendly duel match option, no exp or loot but being able to invite a friend for a duel would be awesome. I hope to see this in the release version of the game.
And finally, that alpha was a blast for me : I'm not a pvp player, and certainly not a skilled player but I enjoyed the combat system so much ! I heard a lot of people saying "that's kinda slow...", yeah, maybe when you're not playing, but playing this was exhausting (in a good way). I also like the fact that spammers or gankers didn't have a big advantage in this game : yes, you can die once because your opponenent made you fall, but it's up to you to be ready in the next round.
I really like the fact that being patient was more rewarding that being overly-agressive, that makes this game so different from others pvp games.
