I want 30 fps, because I like how it looks.
I want 30 fps, because I don't want to sacrifice any graphics quality.
I'm okay with 30 fps, because frame rate doesn't bother me that much.
About 45 fps, because I really want to see smooth motion.
About 45 fps, but I don't want to sacrifice too much graphics quality.
About 60 fps, because I really really want to see smooth motion.
About 60 fps, but don't sacrifice too much graphics quality.
I personally am pretty disappointed that console game developers are still limiting frame rate to 30 fps. Yes graphics quality is important, but how important?
Being able to see animations and motion clearly would very much deepen the gaming experience in action games, especially for online multiplayer.
For Honor isn't a twitch-action shooter that needs very fast reaction times, but the game still needs pretty fast reaction time. Also the immersive experience of being able to see the combat animations more clearly is pretty hard to give up. Although some people prefer 30 fps, because it is more "movie-like" despite it being blurrier. I personally get motion sickness when I see frame rates less than 40 fps for more than 30 min.
So how important is frame rate in For Honor to you guys?
Vote for your minimum preference, because higher frame rate might mean less graphics quality if the developers can't optimize it enough.
If you don't know what frame rate is, then you probably shouldn't vote in the poll, because you won't know what your preference is.
(PC games can usually run as a high framerate as their specs can support so this post isn't directed at For Honor PC players.)
I'm OK with 30 FPS, to be honest. The problem is when these 30 drop to a slideshow, when the connectivity is bad. I hope the final game will be less tolerant of bad connectivity and only the bad connectivity players will drop from matches, leaving the players with good connection to enjoy the game in peace. And teh matchmaking should also keep bad connections away from the good ones.
I'd be fine with 45fps. I'm not opposed to 30fps games in general, I think it's fine, but for a fighting game, you should probably try to get it a bit higher.
60 would of course be ideal, but I saw how much Nioh's 60fps mode sacrificed to get that, and I'm not cool with not having antialiasing on games anymore. Those days are long gone.
Its objective fact that higher framerates are better* for gameplay, but it also matters what you sacrifice to get those framerates. I'm entirely fine with 30fps as long as the game looks great. I would love for it to be higher, but with the relatively low power the current consoles have, the sacrifice may be too much.
*In some cases, due to design, higher framerates can actually worsen the game. Cant remember what one it was, but there was a recent racing game locked at 30, but could be unlocked, which when you did cause the acceleration and handling on the cars to go haywire, making the game unplayable. Also, while it wasn't actually a negative, on ME3 multiplayer, the higher the framerate of the host, the more accurate the enemies would get. Supposedly at around 120fps, the lowest difficulty (bronze) behaved like the highest (platinum).
i would take 720p 60fps over 1080p 30fps any day.
i would happily take a hit to resolution for higher fps. as the noticeable difference between 720p and 1080p is a lot less than the noticeable difference between 30fps and 60fps.
and i would be still be happy with 45 or 50fps. i played on xbox, but from watching footage of the pc version, that fights framerate makes makes everything so much smoother and thus fights look better.
