First alpha ever!
I was sooo excited after watching this game for years anticipating it's arrival and hearing how the alpha was gonna be a possibility the weekend after my birthday..oooh man couldn't believe the luck!
So when I went into this I just figure I'd get that warden action in first, just happy there was a game with knights, samurai and vikings clashing!
Was totally a fan of all the customization found through out the game right off from the start with the banner! My whole experience with soul calibur..dynasty warriors empires, ect. Got me hooked to customizing my fighters.
Oookay, so jumping into practice as everyone knows let's us get our noob skills off faster followed by a little Ai fighting in dominion mode. Thinking eh I just want to focus on playing with multiple people in dominion at first. Unfortunately there were a bunch of network errors or "recovering game state" followed by booted to main menu screens.
As battle progressed I had to learn what every character could do and play as and since I got my invite day 2 late at night I had a lot of ground to cover! Early on I would notice most teams enjoyed the 2 orochi and maybe a raider and or warden mixed in. Took me a bit to grasp using my abilities honestly but once I heard someone go "hey its just like using abilities in league of legends or smite" it finally clicked and smoothed out for me.
My favored class are the knights! I leveled on average my characters to 6-8 while my warden ended lv 15 and conqueror lv 14. If anyone could tell me the highest lv cap they found, That'd be awesome! For being a classic solo player it's got the classic issues where team work lacks and people tend to run when the fight would of been easily won if a 2nd player was there. Can't wait for the full release to see how full teams of 4 communicating works out. (Not saying people haven't in alpha)
What broke me into trying brawl and duel modes were in the end I had to try it for the fun of it and the achievement section didn't hurt either haha. While in duel mode it was a nice change of pace to not get ganked and try out skills player to player! Some were even fights (best fights) while others easily overpowered me or vice versa. For duels I would really like to see an emote option for 'bowing' to show respect before players begin and so forth. Brawls I played the least not because I didn't like them, I just prefer 1v1 or 4v4.
Favorite map for me is the citadel! Big knight fan. Similar to what I heard from others the distance between points there seems balanced. While other maps had a quick climb the ladder boom, point! While the other is "hey look stairs and battle I'll be there asap!" After getting the passive skill to take points faster it certainly helped while the 1st battle passive helped killing minions easier.
Hero thoughts- warden was the balanced guy with a quick combos and punishing top counters. Conquerors, minion pushers and shield for days, kings of spot holding. Raiders were the guys if you don't watch that edge your going over it and hey....Axe! Your dead haha. Beserkers, dual axe men who will kill you if you look away asap. Kensei, the man of steel..swords, mobilty and love for the big top cuts (enjoyed their skill sets). Orochi, Hi! Bye! Better luck next respawn if you can't hit me now, best glass cannons!
Sadly I got sick on the final day but it's been an amazing experience playing this game it's definetly gonna be the game I lose sleep playing all night haha
What a release date too, valentines on my 3rd year anniversary xD it's gonna be a good for sure!
Okay so I ranted enough of my thoughts trying to get it out in one spot...
Thanks so much for the opportunity to play in the alpha Ubisoft! If there are more alphas to come, can't wait! If not, to the Battlefield "For Honor!"come next year. Getting to see the other 6 heroes will be amazing!
