So if you created a company, you'd like someone else to take over your company ?

You guys talk about decline and bad games but are they ? It's your opinion ofcorse but that opinion is a minority cause the majority play those games and don't come on the forum. Sure you care about the franchise cause you loved the first ones.

Remember that Vivendi had shares in Activision/blizzard company "COD, Wow" maybe you'd like the same business model as Activision ?

Uum last I checked UBI ain't my company... Sure it is sad that they might loose their company. Maybe I'm just self centered about this issue but as far as my opinion goes UBI did this to themselves.
I don't like UBI's big sellers and they might not be bad games. However they're shallow games compared to what they used to be.
I don't play activision games either. Last one was the first Transformers title last decade and it was shait. But I'm willing to take the gamble, I mean it's not like we're talking about CD Projekt here.

By Ubisoft doing this to themselves you mean create a valuable company with a massive amount of Intellectual Property and a huge, huge amount of creative potential that is almost impossible to value on a balance sheet?

Get real here, this isn't a punishment for upsetting gamers and Ubisoft's comeuppance for being naughty. This is a hostile takeover because Vivendi can smell a cash cow and they want to force ownership so they can milk it dry and discard it when it's done. If you think that will get you games with an innovative and fresh IP appearing regularly then you are sadly mistaken. If you don't like the way the "suits" at Ubisoft run things then I can not for the life of me think why you'd imagine it would be better under the corporate sharks that Vivendi will bring in. They won't be sitting with a bunch of GR fans for a friendly breakfast, for an hour and a half, getting told what is expect from a disgruntled fan base. Yves Guillemot knows we care about tactical play and being transparent with gameplay footage, because he cares to listen. He cares about the company he created and nurtures it. Vivendi will bleed it then throw it away without a second thought.

However, the main difference is the amount of risk a business is prepared to take. Ubisoft take risks on game development as a deliberate strategy because Yves Guillemot believes that this provides an environment in which creativity can flourish.Yeah, sometimes they come up short, sometimes they don't meet the aspirations they set themselves and in an industry where excellence is taken for granted, boy do the gamers let them know it. Yves won't cancel a project if he believes in it, Vivendi will cancel or cut short the moment the spreadsheets don't show the cash stacking up.

Sometimes taking a loss is better than churning out mediocrity... I am sure Ives is so heartbroken counting his money plus the millions he'll acquire after the takeover. It wouldn't surprise me if he instigated this hostile takeover.

You always talk about mediocrity but it is your opinion when millions doesn't think the same and again who are you to tell that Ubisoft last games are mediocre when you didn't even play those games.

You can tell something is mediocre when you tested it if not how would you know. It's like saying that movie is bad and you didn't saw the movie.

I'll be jumping for joy when the takeover is finalized while you sip your coffee with Ives talking about the next game and the millions you both made. I'm tired of taking a deap breath and walking away almost every time I open a thread ... though I read all comments I'm just tired to see so many useless ones.
None of us is here to gain Millions of dollars ... even if Ulukai (I'm sure) would love to be millionary (like everyone of us) he is not giving his expertise about the franchise to become rich

Having a sort of angry comportement ( I should be scared ?) is not effective as you are in front of a screen ... Ah you noticed it ? Then OK so what do we do now ? Why always positive peoples have to restrain themselves to answers to negative posts ? Why negative people are not the one that "take a deap breath and walk away" ?

So now it just have to STOP, there is no winning argument on any thread ... this is the internet and the only way to convince someone is too directly talk to him IRL.

I'm just gonna shed my opinion and that's it...

whatever this Vivendi is, I don't like their track records, it's just them wanting to gain more money, while Ubi has been doing bad stuffs for past few years, I enjoyed them more than say, a certain game made by Activision... shallow? what shallow? I enjoyed my re-runs of GRFS with different loadouts than a game from Activision, plus this Vivendi is an outsider to us, do you guys think they'll at least try to listen to us? Ubi might fail to deliver us, but I must admit I appreciate their vision and all, at least it gives us that they know what we want, they are just incapable of delivering to the same degree of their dreams because it's just too much for now, what would Vivendi do? probably make GR like a certain game from Activision, where now we kill American citizens in an international airport somewhere in US and detonate a nuke? yeah, I don't want that garbage on GR.

just put this on a simple logic... if you meet someone on the street, you worked him, he gives you money, and both of you become a friend-in-business, then he run out of money, what would you do after that?

For all the sh!t I've given them in the past, I do not want Ubisoft to get taken over by Vivendi. But I don't see how tweeting about it and sharing it on social media will help them fight the takeover.

Shh, let them have their glory. When there's another catastrophy or a terror attack just remember to put on a filter of that country's flag, you'll be doing your part for the society 100% just in 2 minutes work and never leaving your chair!!!
