I was thinking about a tournament mode, where u can either fight 1v1,2v2 or 4v4.
The winner advances to the next round like elimination tournament. Every participant pays a certain amount of steel.
The victor takes all. I think this would make the game more competitive and fun.
The people that got eliminated or that won got the option of spectating the others or leave.

Sounds cool but it raises a problem. Should the tournament count as ranked match or not.

It targets the competitive audience who would like to advance themselves in the ranks

But it doesn't use the basic ranked formula

In any case one thing for sure, some work needs to be done first for it to be implemented correctly.

Well i thought of this as more of a casual game mode like dominion 1v1 and 2v2.
