On the other hand, this is a game. It's not your parents or your siblings fighting and even if it is, who cares if they die. The game is set in a virtual world with at least 2 of the legacies valuing honour. And the game is called For Honor. Right now, there are no reasons to fight with honor, so most people don't, including me. But the most fun I had in the game was fighting 1v1, whether it was in duel or dominion. If the gamed valuing honour more than it does right now, the gameplay would be a lot more intense.
First of all, it's called role playing. You don't have to be playing an RPG to do it.Originally Posted by Ishesses Go to original post
Second, I think you mean "valuing" not "valouring" honor.
If you want Honorable 1v1, go play Duel. Dominion is a team mode, so you have no right to get mad when people work as a team.
Thanks a lot, that's exactly the word I was looking forOriginally Posted by ZenBearV13 Go to original post
Also, I am not "mad" at people who stay grouped. I did the same thing too, it's called logic. We are merely discussing the pros and cons of fighting honourable and how the game could value (thanks again) it more. I am simply giving my opinion and ideas, not raging at being outnumbered.
As for the role playing, knights took vows of honour. That means if you are playing RP and imagining your teammates as friends, then you should also fight honourably since your character took the vow. Most people don't play RP, even in role-play games. The only placed I've seen real role play is on white-listed RP servers, not the Alpha of an action game.
Yeah, GoT-quote.Originally Posted by ParadigmFringe Go to original post
Link was posted in another thread where people were discussing about Honor, too xD
I don't get the complaints about gank squads and kill stealing and such in dominion mode. Isn't that all the POINT of it? You're supposed to work as a team to defeat your enemy and take points as quickly as possible. If you don't want to be outnumbered, travel in numbers yourself. Take every advantage you can get. Fairness is for duels, dominion is for war. And I'm not even sure the game doesn't just award you a kill simply for participating in a fight. Some matches I've scored far more takedowns than I believe I've actually made killing blows.
All that said, I'm starting to get real pissed with stage hazards in duel mode.
Probably posted by me if I'm honest.Originally Posted by Roy_McDunno Go to original post
different interpretations of "for honor" tho, should I be honorfull towards the enemy or towards my team? Its a war and everything is allowed in war to win... only in the means of battlestrats.
So basically imo its mostly only disgracefull to abuse game mechanix, spawnkill people, abuse glitches, rely on broken moves... thats all a big NONO
but on the other hand, 3v1 will and must happen on the battlefield... its not fair but war aint fair... you got the same thing in egoshooters, tho you dont feel it being so unfair since bullets fly so fast from everywhere you hardly understand how many shot at you the same time. Here it only feels overwhelming because those 3 guys are standing infront of you beating the crap out of your armour.
But... have you ver survived a 1v3 ? Have you ever won a 1v3? wasnt that feeling overwhelming? Wasnt it epic to be the warden that single handedly stomped a kensei, a raider and an orochi? WEll you would never have the chance to feel that epic if there wasnt that 1v3 in the first place...
Killstealing ahppens... its war... but tho for myself its situational. In the heat of a 3v3 I dont care which balde it was that killed whom... aslong as I and my fellow teammates win, it was worth. Thos when I approach a Situation of an epic 1v1 duel of destiny, where both are fighting at their best... I wont disturb them. I will pass by to do something else or wait until they are done to fight.
For Honor means for the HOnor of my team, my faction and myself! We want to bring glory to the battlefield! And wether we won against the crushed enemy, or we are down in the dirt covered in blood... we fought for our best, we fought... FOR HONOR!
As I said, I'm not complaining about ganking and kill stealing. I did the same and they are part of the game. I'm just saying that the game could be skill-based and exciting if everyone fought honourably. When you get caught in a 2v1, most of the time you don't have fun fighting, die and lose 20 seconds of gameplay waiting to respawn. That being said, I don't really care either way, if the game becomes more honour-focus I'll be happy, but if it doesn't I'll still be playing. I want Citadel to be a little bigger but if they don't change it, will I stop playing? No. That's the same thing for honour.Originally Posted by MisterCynic18 Go to original post
You're right, that's the one good thing about unhonourable ennemies, the moments I've felt the most pride of myself was when I won my 2v1s and even once, a 3v1.Originally Posted by feralfeather Go to original post
I feel the debate have reached a stalemate. On one side, people are arguing that war is unhonourable while on the other side (me :3), people argue that the game is supposed to be based on Honour, Since opinions are the medium between knowledge and ignorance, I'd like to have some facts. Is the game, as the devs intended it, supposed to be based on honour?
