First, let me say thanks for being included in the closed Alpha. I was stoked to receive the invite and participate.
I'd like to start with the positives, then move on to opportunities for improvement.
Pros:
- Graphics, gameplay, and animations were great.
- Combat sounds were visceral, and added a really nice touch, helped with immersion
- Game stability was good
- Enjoyed learning the nuances of each character/classes
- Diversity of skills & combat types
- I did reasonably well despite not being an elite player (game balance)
- Perhaps most importantly, I had fun and wanted to come back and play more
Potential areas for improvement:
- Player control preferences were reset on game re-launch
- Experienced the map briefly upside down on pre-spawn (after death) - corrected itself once characters feet were on the ground
- Found battlefield items didn't seem to have much effect when an item was already equipped (same stats for all?)
- Would like to be able to customize character without exiting all the way out to main menu
- Experienced connection issues, most generally with host migration (captured the following error: "Host migration unavailable: Going back to main menu. [2904484995]"
- Would like to see the training tutorial expanded to allow players to practice all skills (special abilities, stuns, ranged, etc...) in addition to basic combat
- A switchable spectate mode (perhaps 3rd person) when team is breaking (and dead, like I was many times) would be a great touch
- We don't know your ultimate plans for the game, but please no microtransactions (read:no pay to win), I believe a skill based progression is the best way to move this forward as opposed to dumping cash for a quick-fix l33t character bought and not earned
Overall, I believe this was a great Alpha, and sincerely look forward to some of the fixes/tweaks that are coming. I hope to also be included in the upcoming beta, and am looking forward to the eventual release![]()
