    BERSERKER - Revenge State Execution/Martyrdom

An idea for the Berserker character hero...

As a perk, when the Berserker's HP is dangerously low (thread of health left), and the his/her has revenge state built, he can activate it and charge the targeted opponent. If the opponent counters it, they instantly execute the Berserker (+3 penalty). If the fail to counter the, the Berserk dives onto the opponent and brutally strangles/pummels them to death with his bare hands - instant kill - but dies in the process. The equivalent of a Martyrdom perk, but requiring more skill.

You can add some additional flare by having him/her drop his axe, knock minions out of the way and screaming while doing it.

Be mindful that anything like this could cause some balancing issues, so making it more difficult in rare to achieve is important.

I'm always delighted to hear new ideas and mechanics and an "instant/critical kill" is something I've pondered but never posted about.
The reason I've never posted is because on a video (wish I could link you but I'm not rewatching 2 hours of interviews to find the one video where it's mentioned) the developers mention how they approached the health of the characters.
I'll summarize what I took away from it.
They wanted it to be a small amount of health so engagements don't last for 5-10 minutes and can be finished before it devolves into a 4v1 madhouse but large enough that if you make 1 mistake you can recover and come out on top, 2 mistakes and possibly still win, but eventually (in dominion I believe they were referring to) a handful of mistakes will cost you the encounter or someone will intervene or revenge will pop.

So I might not agree with an instant kill mechanic personally but I encourage you to remain creative and keep posting ideas!
