I think everyone is fine with the easy to learn part. It's just that there should also be a hard to master aspect of the class. Without more moves, You can't really go anywhere with the warden. It'll literally be a starting class, and as soon as you get familiar enough that you want to start easing into some higher level play, you abandon it for a class that actually has some options for that. And that's sad to me. I like the warden, and I want it to remain viable even for high level play. But you can't have that with such a limited moveset.
I played most of the alpha as the Warden too, and one thing I didn't like about it was the fact that he was so damn defensive. I'm not asking for 5 new combos and a special attack. I'm just attacking for an unblockable and an extra move at most. I mostly play simple, offensive characters in PvP games. The Warden is very simple, I love it. But he could use a bit more fire.
What about an unblockable heavy from a parry? So you do a parry in either direction, and follow it up with an unblockable heavy attack from the same direction. This would essentially give you 3 unblockable attacks, one from each side, but it would be balanced by the fact that you had to do a parry to start it. There are a lot of parries and ripostes in german longsword fencing too, so it would fit thematically.
That's a good idea, but wouldn't it be a little overpowered? I've only played Warden so I don't know how other classes do their unblockables but I'm pretty sure they are doing them through combos.Originally Posted by waraidako Go to original post
Yep, exactly!Originally Posted by waraidako Go to original post
And the Warden is the only class with a Zweihänder in For Honor, the only class the "truly" represents the medieval Knights..
Considering that the Warden is the 08/15-medieval fighter, he's pretty sub-standard and "ineffective" in this game.

Well every unblockable *can* be blocked, even if it's a little tricky.Originally Posted by Ishesses Go to original post
I mean the Raider got many unblockables and a long @ss stun/shoulder-charge and isn't overpowered^^

On another note:
I still would love another Combo for the Warden that ends on a heavy-attack. Maybe even a 4-attack-combo?
Using the momentum of the heavy sword in order to deal more dmg?
What about the zoning-attack + a heavy-attack after it? Or might that be too overpowered?
Watcha think?![]()
I know that every unblockable can be avoided by dodging or hitting the other player. But I think the other classes have their unblockable at the end of a combo, so simply parrying to unlock one seems a bit easy.Originally Posted by Roy_McDunno Go to original post
As for the combo, I don't really know what zoning-attack means. Could you use the actual attacks themselves? For exemple, Light-Left + Heavy-Top . That would really help me understand![]()
The zoning attack is where you press R1+R2 or RB+RT. Every hero has it but the Warden's zoning attack is probably the best, at least in terms of what we've seen. That's one of the reasons why I'm not entirely sure the Warden needs more combos. They can already combine their combos very well while also mixing it up with a very good zoning attack. It wouldn't hurt to have one extra three hit combo though that's different than the rest.
My controller didn't work, so I have no idea what R1+R2 or RB+RT means. Could you please use direction and heavy/light?Originally Posted by SetOskills Go to original post
And is the zoning attack the attack where the Warden spins in a circle?
Light attack + Heavy attack together. The attack always comes from the right side. It drains half of your stamina but you can be holding your guard on the opposite side and then quickly throw out a zone attack and take about a bar of their health because about the only way to block the attack is if you already have your guard on the side its coming from, it's too fast. I guess the Warden sort of spins in a circle, it's like a frontal arc attack.Originally Posted by Ishesses Go to original post
