Yep, that's the zoning-attack. Basically, heavy and light attack-button at the same time.Originally Posted by Ishesses Go to original post
If I'm not mistaken: the current zoning-attack of the Warden can't be implemented into a combo, right? You can light-attack + zone OR heavy-attack + zone or anything like that, right?
The Zoning-attack is a move on its own and doesn't benefit by having a light/heavy attack first, right?
How about implementing the ZA into something like a combo?
Like light-light-zone or smth like that? This way the enemies wouldn't know if light-light-shoulder-check or light-light-heavy or light-light-ZA is coming

While this *could* be undoubtedly good, I think if the Warden is tweaked in such a way, it is not really noticeable for the large majority of the playerbase.Originally Posted by Fatal-Feit Go to original post
Increasing the range of the zone-attack might have an impact on high-tier-duels where very skilled opponents know the correct distances, etc.
But for the large part of the playerbase, increasing the range of the ZA is not so noticeable change for the Warden, I feel.

Overall:
Tl;DR:
Zoning-attack does not benefit from a combo or previous attacks.
Why not make it possible to make a flow like light-light-ZA, same as light-light-shouldercheck or light-light-heavy-attack?
On the other hand, having 3 combos that start with light-light might make the Warden gameplay centered towards them, so the ennemy will know you're going for light-light. That was pretty badly said, I hope you understood what I meant.Originally Posted by Roy_McDunno Go to original post
Also, I know that I've rejected a lot of ideas since the beginning of this post, and didn't put a lot forward on my own. I'm not rejecting anything for the fun of it, I actually started writing this reply thinking it was a god idea and giving you my approval. Keep giving out suggestions, they are very good![]()
Then why not light-ZA?
Make it quick and and very high dmg-potential, but it will cost quite some stamine, I imagine.
(If you put a guardbreak, throw or shoulder-charge, this combo will cost ~half or even more of all stamina I figure)
Or light attack - heavy attack - ZA?
What would be more useful overall?
Interesting. I can already combo with the zone attack, so I'm not sure if I'm understanding your suggestion correctly.Originally Posted by Roy_McDunno Go to original post
Didn't know that.Originally Posted by SetOskills Go to original post
I knew it was quick, just watched it in a video, and yeah, it's pretty damn quick.
Hm well, was just spitballing new ideas, didn't say they were good^^

I was thinking more about some way of being able to chain the ZA into a combo, so it's not like a super-strong attack standing on its own, you know? ^^
edit: After re-reading the title of this thread many many times... I can't help but think of either this, this or that when reading "Warden needs more moves"
Skills has nothing to do with performing combos, though. I see what you mean, but I don't think there was any issue with merging it into a combo, as it's such a super quick attack. Reducing the delay between our heavy into a ZA would be great, though.
Less stamina cost would be nice as well. Maybe 1/3rd instead of half, since it only comes from one direction and only takes up 1 bar.
And again, I'd love a wider reach with it, because it's kind of hard to punish samurais that focuses on side dash attacks.
