Throwing someone off a map should be much more difficult

First of all, I really enjoyed the Alpha. The combat was much deeper than I originally thought, and I just kept on playing, because it never bored.
Having said that, there is one balance issue that I personally found very frustrating, and I wonder what you're thinking about it.

In my opinion, it's way too easy to throw someone off a map. Mainly, because you can't recover from it, one mistake and you can be dead. For example, there was a round in which the enemy had a slither of health left, and I took basically 0 damage. Suddenly, he broke my guard and threw me off the map, and I lost instantly. Sure, I made a mistake in the end, but what I don't like about it, is that one mistake completely changes the outcome of the game. It didn't just bring him back into the fight, taking away a large portion of my health, but it instantly killed me. It doesn't matter how much of a health advantage you had, if you get thrown, it can be over immediately.

Although I agree that a battle should never be over until it's really over (giving everyone a chance to come back at any point in the game), I don't think this is the way to do it. It just feels very unsatisfying, because you don't really feel like the enemy earned that victory through skill. You simply made 1 error yourself (while the enemy may have made a lot of errors before that).

Anyway, let me know what you think. Should you be able to instantly kill someone that easily? Or do you not think it's too easy at all?

I think it's fair. If it was the other way around, you on the brink of death, I think you'd consider this skill and luck that you've thrown him into a botomless pitt. We just have to remember to be aware of our surroundings and be always on our toes.
