After the weekend, I'd figure I'd reiterate some issues I'd had, and some positive feedback of what I did like.

ISSUES:
  • Networking Issues - The P2P needs to go. A game like this needs a dedicated server. Frequent game pausing disconnects that made combat situations during them unfair. Also, freezing when people joined/dropped the match.
  • Main Menu Bug - When in another players party while they're sitting at the main menu, you can't do anything but look at the map in the background. No menu options popped up. Had to sit there until party leader started a new game.
  • Balancing - Overall the game was better balanced than I expected, however, I think the viking shoulder charge needs a distance nerf. I feel he runs too far after he picks you up.
  • The Quit To Desktop option of the main menu wouldn't work. I needed to Alt+Tab and kill the game with task manager.

POSITIVES:
  • The game runs flawlessly on my PC. Consistent 60FPS on Extreme settings. The game looks beautiful, so props to the visual designers and other devs.
  • The combat was deeper than I expected. I didn't even know half the moves I could do until after I watched the two videos for my heroes.
  • Overall, it's fun, well-paced, and addictive. I had a lot of fun, and I wish the alpha was extended. Definitely needs more game modes, but I know that's coming.
  • This definitely has potential to be an e-sport, I think.

Recommendation/Ideas:
  • New Faction: The Mamluks. Mamluks were an Egyptian caste of warriors during the 9th-16th centuries. Possible heroes could be armed with a scimitar, lance, shields, and perhaps an ability like the orochi's long bow using a pistol of the time (historically accurate, by the way).
  • New Faction: The Byzantines. From 6th-14th centruies, Byzantine was the Eastern Roman Empire. Soldiers armed with 6-sided maces, traditional Roman swords and spears.
  • New Game Mode: 3 or 4-way free-for-all battle royale
  • New Game Mode: A game mode where on each team, 1 player is a high-value unit, and the other players on the respective teams must protect that unit, while trying to kill the opposing teams unit.
  • New Game Mode: A multi-objective game mode where after the first objective is complete, moving to a secondary objective. For example, the attackers' first objective would be to storm the defenders' castle, then kill an NPC character the defenders must defend, like a king or leader.
  • New Hero: For the Samurai, a new hero could be based upon the Ashigaru units, armed with a naginata (the Japanese equivalent of a polearm, semi-similar to a halberd.) or yari (a spear). They could also have a skill, much like the Orochi, where they use a bow (which would also be historically accurate.).
