So, the Alpha is nearly done, and thought I'd give my opinions on it.

First of all, this game is a breath of fresh air in a market oversaturated by overhyped FPS shooters. I really enjoy learning the combat system and all of its intricacies because its very rewarding to outplay someone in this game. Haven't been looking forward to a game this much in a while. I think Ubisoft does a good job of nailing the 'hardcore' games (like R6 Siege as another example).

One aspect I really enjoy about this game is how engagements are 'personal'. You don't have some guy sniping from a hill a mile away, you have a face-to-face battle of skill, wits, patience and prediction. Every kill is satisfying.

However, I've heard some complaints: "X is OP, I can't take on 3 opponents at once," etc. I disagree with these.

I don't think any characters are OP -some just take longer to understand in combat. Some people don't want to admit that maybe they maybe haven't practiced enough against a particular class and say it's OP. Maybe it's an ego thing. I get shrekt by certain classes sometimes but I acknowledge that I made mistakes that cost me my life, I don't blame it on OP character design.

Secondly: ganking. I believe one of the strong points of this game is its realism. I have trouble believing that one fighter should be able to take on 3 fighters, no matter how good they are. I think people are seeing 'Revenge Mode' all wrong. I believe the purpose of it is to delay your death as long as possible until teammates come to your aid, not single handedly wipe out all the heroes like nothing. The same people that say Revenge Mode is useless will be the same people who complain it is OP when one opponent with Revenge Mode wipes out him and his entire team.

This kind of just brings me to a bigger point on the gaming industry. I can now see why games are made way less difficult than they used to be and with a lot more hand holding. I've already seen people commenting saying they won't buy the game because it's too difficult to learn. This just sends a message to developers saying 'don't make games too difficult to learn or people won't buy them'.

I really hope the devs don't listen to this crowd. Sure, this game may not compete with AAA titles like Destiny, Halo and Battlefield, but I'm sure the niche community will enjoy it the way it is. I'm welcome to being wrong and seeing the game getting crazy popular, but I just don't see it. Many people want easy games or they give up, and it can be tough for devs to balance that.

Well, I think I've said enough. I only wish they had this game in its current condition as a 'Game Preview' on the Marketplace to last us until February .
