It's seriously a joke. Doesn't matter how hard hitting, tough, quick, or agile character you play vs a samurai class. The Samurai is the all knowing all wise ******* of the game. Don't know how to play or duel? PICK UP THE SAMURAI AND JUST SWING AWAY! ALL THAT HEAVY ARMOR IS PAPER WEIGHT! not enough reach? WELL NOW YOU HAVE IT, THE SAMURAI SPECIALIZES IN REACH AROUNDS!!! Tired of having all your moves blocked? THAT'S OKAY, SAMURAI'S SWING TOO FAST FOR YOUR OPPONENT TO REACT AND CHANCES ARE YOU'LL LAND 5 HITS AFTER THE FIRST!
If you're looking for a fair fight, you won't find it vs a samurai class. This game would be better without them.
All the problems you listed aren't even problems. It's just lack of reflexes. If you wanna complain, do it about the Orochi. They don't even have to attack you to kill you. They just parry you and get a free hit and there's nothing you can do about it. At least the Warden had to be attacked from the top to get a free hit. The Orochi can do it from all sides.
I mean, if you really don't like the Samurai. Play Conqueror. I had a 25-0 winstreak in duels and only died twice in two of those matches (I mean died twice so the match went to round 5). If you block as a Conqueror, it stops their combos and they have to start the combo all over again.
lack of reflexes? you just said OROCHI, which is in the Samurai class. proving my point, both classes in Samurai are unfair. One can kill you in a 3 hit combo, the other just keeps swinging and you cant do anything. It doesn't matter who i play, or if i block the direction of the swing, somehow some way they still hit me even though i'm blocking the direction of the swing. It's flawed and makes the game meaningless. It's all people play because it's so easy. not worth $60 if people are just going to have the game handed to them in one character.Originally Posted by Abomination713 Go to original post
Are you seriouse? The Kensei is the only class I'd consider rating to might be easier contered then the Raider.
He has no counterskill, his unblockable attack is parryable and his reach is useless against everyone except the Orochi.
If you cant keep up against the Kensei speak for yourself about him, he is by FAR not as impossible to fight as you say.
The Orochi is fightable too, but if someone with extreme good skill plays it, its currently immortal. There is no class that has a more diverse, stronger and/or faster moveset then the oroshi. The Berserker can autoparry with every block, yeah, but he is by far not as fast as the oroshi and even can be blocked after parrying. His attackchains also always end with a top attack so they are easier to dodge too. If the oroshi goes 100% defensive and is as skilled as most top players are, he is superior on more then just an average basic.
But as said, its only the Orochi who is the problem. (I play raider only, might its due to that?)
The Kensei himself is average at best. Even if played very good, he has less strengths then other classes. His reach only helps if you play this extremely annoying back-dodge playstyle.
I blocked them just fine and never had a problem. That's why I said lack of reflexes. The Orochi is worse to deal with compared to the Kensai. There have been so many "I blocked but still got hit!" posts in these forums that I'm curious if it a certain platform experiencing it or people are just exaggerating. People love to exaggerate. Like when ever a game has a kick feature, people complain that they get kicked from every other game for no reason at all.Originally Posted by szabres Go to original post
You on PC? That seems to be were all the blocking problems seem to come from. On PS4 everything worked like it should have.
Hey, Orochi main here (aka part of the problem apparently).
Honestly the samurai classes aren't that over powered, In duels they do very well because their main focus is 1 on 1 combat. As to your arguments, having faught both Kensei and Orochi in duels, their attacks really arent that fast and are in the Kensei's case are just as easy to block and counter. I have never seen a case of them just using light or heavy attacks and actually winning against someone who was able to play half way decently. Easy counter to this? Block 1 hit then shield break them or simply dodge backwards.
As to the block when hit problem, that seems to mainly come from a ping issue, the hit has already hit by the time you block but the server just hasnt updated you on that yet (attackers advantage). Nt much you can do about this other than dodging more (dodges seem to allow for slower reflexes then blocking).
If you want a direct counter to the samurai classes look to the vikings, With the reaiders ability to charge and pick them up and the berserkers counter ability they can be quite a deadly force for the samurai
As for the knights, they are rather slow with their attacks so easy to dodge and counter (same can be said for the raider but his charge adds a lot to a fight). Viking > Samurai > Knight > Viking - rock paper scissors
Well thats my 2 cents, thanks for reading
Just speaking of pure technical possibiity here (and I guarantee you I saw at least one player in this and the last alpha playing on this level, name was Faraam or somewhat like this), but if the oroshi counters every guardbreak and at least blocks (but basically parrys) all your attacks, you cant win. As Warden and Conqueror you can force him out with the shoulderbash, but that can be dodged too and as I dont play knights I have no idea how effective it would be against top class oroshis. In addition the orochis unblockable attack is a stab from no direction, so it cant be parryd - just dodged. The Kenseis and Raiders ones can be parryd, creating an opening in defense and big waste of stamina.Originally Posted by SuhSora Go to original post
As said, just spoken in theoreticall technical mechanics, beyond the bash from knights I cant recall any classes skill to effectively counter a high class oroshi.
I got more then half of them killed, sure, but the rate of oroshis defeating me 0:3 is far superior then the ones of other classes. I need one hand to count off every opponent of any class I was without a chance against. I cant guarantee to get all with two hands if I add orochis. I currently can just hope that the missing six classes might at a heavy disadvantage against them.
