First of all thanks for the invite to play the closed alpha. As an avid gamer this was quite a honor. Comparing this game to Chivalry, they both have pros and cons so let me start with the pros of For Honor;
Pros- Love the animations and combo moves, graphics are fantastic, detail and particle effects are good, customization of the emblem is always nice to have for those who like to stand out or show their creativity. Servers and game ran great with no lag, bugs, glitches or match migration type errors. Not once had any disconnects or crashes. Like the perk types for the characters (adds a CoD feel) For players like me who never have been a big PvP player more sticking to PvE, the team vs Ai mode is a wonderful addition.
Cons- Menus were a bit confusing to navigate especially the after match options. Never found the character customization. My biggest complaint is the blocking aspect of the game. Chivalry was pretty straight forward, point ur mouse at the attack, while the CTRL target mode can tunnel vision the game on one character that removes the player from the battle ongoing around them. Sensitive mouse users will find it hard to keep the mouse in the correct direction to block and easily move to wrong stance with unintended movements.
Suggestions- Some type of rework or changes to the blocking mechanics. More weapons, characters, armor, (yes I read that the final game will have more, just saying) Horses, siege weapons, capture the king/queen mode, defend the castle (I wanna push a guy from a ladder into a moat) Open-world where players defend/attack several castle in a kingdom holding more castles for their faction grants power ups and other pluses. Ability to build, craft spike walls or stone barriers, maybe sand bags or something
