G'day all. First impressions for my alpha gaming experience were good. Overall i enjoy the game play but i feel like there are a few areas which could be adjusted. i will say "for me" after listing my issues simply because these issues are things i experienced, which may have been different for others.
Issue one for me was the 'guard break'; While against players this probably is more effective(judging from my own experiences), against ai the effect seems to be much diminished. Using the Raider i can throw someone up against a wall, knee them in the face, and largely, they will be up and swinging or blocking before i can disengage or swing myself.
another regular disappointment with this ability was timing issues. many times id get a slow attacker mid way through a huge overextended attack, when id guard break them in the ribs mid swing. this should be an effective counter but in most cases it just seemed like the swinging graphic can only interrupted by a block. so it would do nothing and the swing would find its mark.
Issue two for me was the 'scoring system'; I just finished a match where i had 7 objective caps, 11 takedowns and 0 deaths. I was 2nd place behind someone who was 0-0-1 respectively. i presume they either sat at mid doing nothing but fighting minions, or sat at one of the bases the entire match gaining points that way. for me this is a tad discouraging seeing as how someone who was, for the most part, inactive for the whole game can top the charts.
Issue three for me was what I will call "combat inconsistencies"; now before i go further with this, i will say that, by and large. it felt pretty good. however there were a few things i noticed.
Several times i noticed vs AI that various classes would have drained their stamina and were still attacking at full speed. if this were also the case for me i wouldn't mention anything. however when i run out of stamina, everything slows pretty dramatically. to the opposite effect, i noticed several times characters go crazy while attacking. they would miss lots, hit lots, and get blocked plenty. however their stamina seemed pretty well unaffected. maybe they had a feat activated, however if it was, there was no indication of these in the many occasions i have experienced.
