    Gear and Loot System Feedback and Other Personal Impressions

    After having a fun time with the alpha build, I wanted to give what feedback I can here and now -- specifically towards the gear and loot systems. I just want to say that the current system is sitting on a very slippery and dangerous slope. On one hand, stat boosting gear opens up more options of player customization towards their play style. On the other hand, gear drops could favor the lucky; the players with plenty of freetime; or possibly even players with extra money if microtransactions are to be a thing in For Honor (much to just about every player's disdain).

    Cosmetically, there is no problem with the random loot drops. But gear drops with stat boosts can become discouraging to unlucky players or those with less time to play. If stat boosts are to large it would favor players with better gear than players with higher skill; an issue you might find if you've played The Division. But if stat boosts are too low, then there would be no point in grinding for better gear or paying steel to scavenge new gear; meaning it'd be more appropriate if gear were solely vanity. The game would honestly be most enjoyable if the experience relies very heavily on the skill of players involved rather than on your chances of getting a helmet with good stats.

    Besides that, I love the variety of style in gear and that gear can be both dismantled for XP or for trading a look of one piece of gear for another; I would just say that the amount of XP gained for dismantling should be higher, or that dismantling can be done instead for steel rather than XP.

    Other things I wanted to mention is that steel should be more abundant, getting more at the end of matches and for completing orders. You should be able to rotate your character in customization without having to pull away from the part you're editing. The UI and HUD could do well to have larger icons/fonts and could use more prompts, ie. controls telling you that you can pan around in tactical view using the control sticks (something I was unaware to until some time later). And one little thing is maybe being able to customize friendly and enemy minions.

    I should also note accessibility things like color filters for colorblind players.

    Overall, the game is very fun and addicting; it just needs hero rebalancing and going through all the systems and mechanics of gameplay to snuff out exploits or overpowered moves; and also going through menu operation and clarity, broader and clearer tutorial systems, and tuning in-game resources like steel, to insure the game can be as perfect as it can be at launch.

    I'd like to hear from everyone about these things or anything I might've missed related to what I said -- so please don't be afraid to critique. ;

    The two above statements, where basically what I was going to write about as well. I honestly think you hit the nail on the head with these to points. As I am a player that does not get a lot of time to play games like these i.e. games that are primarily online. If they do go the route of the Division or the way Destiny does the whole luck or chance of the drop spectrum. I feel that a lot of players wont be sticking with this game.
