So I love the game, and do indeed plan to buy and play the hell out of it after getting to play this alpha, but I mostly have negative things to say, because unenjoyable things tend to stick out more than enjoyable ones.

First a few quality of life things, or really just one. When improving an item, it would be nice to have a different color bar to show going from level 1 into level 2. I was confused at one point thinking I was barely upgrading the item from level 1.

Next would be a few buggy or wonky things in the game. The first being the conqueror's flail. Sometimes, and I mean a lot of times, it just loses it's physics. switching between it's different resting animations while flashing constantly. Also I've had the camera suddenly change direction a few times, and go into an object, 9 times out of 10 that object would be a box for some reason. The last thing here is the minions or soldiers who sit around point B. Fighting them is no problem but walking through them is a nightmare, my own soldiers body block me in and I'm forced to roll around to get out of that mess.

Lastly now would be the things that make me hate this game. Day 3 of the alpha I find myself getting more and more angry at the game, even as I get better. Classes like the Orochi and Kensei, mainly Orochi, are broken to the point of overpowered. The Kensei more my opinion, being unable to stop his attack for the full combo is quite annoying, but that's beside the point. The Orochi can deflect attacks, and instantly counter attack. Not only can you not stop it, but it does a good amount of damage, staggers you, and makes your screen flash red. It doesn't stop there either, the can light attack after deflecting, heavy attack, guard break, and feint all of those as well. Oh, and that's the other thing, guard breaking. Might just be me, but I find it too easy to use, and too hard to stop. the window is really small to counter it with your own guard break, it doesn't cost much stamina and can be used quite often, not to mention the follow up which is you being tossed off a cliff. I'm okay with environmental deaths but when there is a mechanic that's so easy and cost efficient to use, it becomes frustrating. Which this is a good time to bring up my next issue, the most overpowered, honor-less environmental death. The ladder. If you're knocked off this thing at all, you're dead. Players will run away, and go to a ladder, just sitting there until someone gets on it so they can punch them off or slide down. It does an absurd amount of damage, if you manage to not die you're on the floor nearly dead. Please nerf ladder.

I said lastly but reading through all of that reminded me how angry I get. I go by a strict don't say anything rule after a match. I tried giving a compliment once, but was met with so much hate. The player base is already looking extremely toxic for just an alpha group. Players able to spam emotes, quick chat to everyone "Nice! Nice! Nice!" and then the chat after a match, every players gets more than a minute to talk as much crap as they want. I hope there will at least be a mute and report function.

That's it, my first impressions of For Honor. Quite negative but more constructive I'd say. The game runs smooth, plays nice, is fun and has a good amount of customization, which I hope gets expanded. But those things aren't very troubling, cause everything above has made me hate the alpha. I just don't want to play, and that's what will make me not want to play when it comes out.
