I hope I'm not the only one experiencing these issues. But if I play as the Warden my guard break works about half the time. Or when I use it, I'm left way to open for an attack and can't guard against it. Perhaps this is on my part as well. But I only have this issue on the Warden when I try to use a guard break.
Is anyone else having this issue with the Warden? Or am I alone?
I don't know about you, but guard break works impeccably for me. Though if you guard break and someone tries to hit you, you're gonna get hit. Wardens have pretty slow recovery from guard break. My main issue is really the stance system not working as intended. Think I've recorded 20 times so far over my past few days of gameplay where my stance indicator shows I'm guarding somewhere, while my warden's stance animation is different. This results in my warden guarding based on the animation, and not the indicator, which is super frustrating and makes it impossible for me to engage properly in combat. Fortunately it hasn't happened super much, but it completely throws me off my game when all of a sudden my top to left stance switch shows as registered on the stance indicator, but not on my actual character, who is still hopelessly standing around in top stance.
Are you using a controller or keyboard/mouse? I'm using a PS4 controller on PC, remapped with inputmapper (guard break on L1 is the best decision I ever made, it was so horribly placed on square. Literally having to let go of my stance stick to counter-guard break or guard break someone? How about no thanks xD Also put my stance initiator on R3, the right analog stick downpress, and replaced it with feint on L2. So much better.)
I will second this. I find the guardbreak to be kinda faulty. Like TC said works like 50% of the time, so I keep using it (knowing full well that you have to be close to use successfully)... I don't have specifics but it just doesn't work when it most clearly should work. I'm not sure if it is just linked to lag or i-frames or so on but... yeah it is inconsistent. Sometimes I use it to great success, others it feels like it is buggin out completely... as if not to be registered at all then the opponent just cuts right through it.
I agree with all of you. I play on Xbox. But maybe I think the wardens recovery time should be altered a little bit, so we have a chance to actually guard and stand somewhat of a chance. But it could also be that my range is off as well. I did try this out on a 1v1 duel against a bot and still suffered with the same issue. About 50% of the time, his guard break is effective and the rest I end up in defeat. I'll just have to keep using him to see where his effectiveness is best. Thanks for your input.
