Seppuku (切腹, "cutting [the] abdomen/belly"), sometimes metathesized in English as harakiri (腹切り, "abdomen/belly cutting"), is a form of Japanese ritual suicide by disembowelment. It was originally reserved for samurai. Part of the samurai bushido honor code, seppuku was used either voluntarily by samurai to die with honor rather than fall into the hands of their enemies (and likely suffer torture) or as a form of capital punishment for samurai who had committed serious offenses, or performed because they had brought shame to themselves. The ceremonial disembowelment, which is usually part of a more elaborate ritual and performed in front of spectators, consists of plunging a short blade, traditionally a tantō, into the abdomen and drawing the blade from left to right, slicing the abdomen open.


Because yanno, sometimes you just wanna take away that execution from your enemy to preserve your honor. It helps take some of the salt out of your wound when a Conqueror starts pelvic thrusting into your decapitated body while your head watches from off to the side.

that would nice far them but you would still be able to be killed while doing it , which can happen to people doing executions, which would then allow them to execute themselves so not really worth it unfortunately

I think it would be cool to have as a thematic thing. Same rules as with executions, but if you are the losing Samurai you get a prompt to commit Seppuku which takes priority, doesn't lock the opponent (who can go and spit on your friends) but also doesn't net you that 3s extra for being executed. Great suggestion!

Actually, I think this is a great idea in a way.

See, seppuku was sometimes assisted. The dishonored would have a friend who could behead them and finish the job in the event they faltered.

Perhaps this could be an execution option for any samurai vs samurai fight.

I'm all in for this. This should totaly be an execution option... you just end yourself is all.
