Agreed. Above everything else this needs to be priority number 1. P2P is an awful idea (for any modern competitive game in my opinion) for the multitude of reasons already stated in this thread.

I was genuinely surprised when i tried this alpha and there weren't dedicated servers. Leaves too much room for unfair advantage due to internet connection/speed and cheating.

Thats the only thing that can kill the game if we don't have dedicated servers.

Right now in Dominion mode, its like : 1 playing with fiber connexion vs 7 people with 56k modems.
if the host has Orochi or berserk, good luck parrying any light attack.

In a multiplayer focused game like this with skill, reflex, and response time a major part of the gameplay dedicated servers really are a must. I don't know if they did P2P just to test it our or for the alpha, but I hope when the game comes out it has dedicated servers, since they make gameplay much smoother and make connectivity problems on either side much less of an issue. The game is very fun and I will probably buy it, but the P2P is giving me some reservations and like many have said in this thread, for many people it's a real deal-breaker especially given how much multiplayer focus this game will (rightly, given how fun the PVP combat is) have.

The game will die within mere months if it remains Peer to Peer. It's completely inexcusable for a company as big as Ubisoft to not invest in Dedicated Servers.

Hell, to be honest, I say we all boycott the game if this isn't changed in full release, although I highly doubt we'd get a substantial amount to bother with that.

It will boycott itself if its P2P. Everyone will still buy it at first, but within 2-4 weeks the population/community will be so depleted from people being tired of constant freezes and DC's that they will have no player base to speak of.

Yeah, I'm not sure it'll be even playable with P2P for the full game. We only played for a couple of days during the alpha, and that was enough to piss me off. And I'm a patient guy. If this was every day, for a month... It'd just be an exercise in frustration. What's the point of even buying the game if it's going to be like that?
