Getting outnumbered was my biggest frustration about the Alpha and pretty much the only frustration. Unless you travel in a pack the entire round you're going to get jumped by like 3 or for players and you have no chance. I kind of agree with the op, if revenge mode is buffed it would encourage players not to gang up. That may be wrong in the end but we need more means to deal with 3v1 or 4v1 and traveling in a pack of 3 shouldn't be the answer

Revenge mode is incredibly powerful, you must use the tools it gives you.

It makes your parries knock people down, it makes your throws knock people down, it makes your guard breaks blow though attacks, it gives you super armor (dauntless, uninterruptible).
Try to get a parry in on one or two of your attackers, then grab another and throw him into the others, they should all be on one side of you now and easy to manage.

Your job in revenge mode is not to kill everyone, it's to delay them. Killing them happens to be the best way to delay them, but not the only way.
I can't count how many times this alpha I kept 2-3 people busy for over a minute and a half just chipping at them and parrying/blocking/counter guard breaks. Sometimes I kill them all, sometime's I just keep them busy for a long time. And that's FINE. That's two (or more) for one. Imagine how much of a joke the game is if you're having long 1v2/1v3 somewhere on the map while your other 3 teammates are enjoying their advantage.

You don't need revenge to stop ganking. You already have tools at your disposal to handle groups of people. It's called running away. Run to a partner for backup. You could use the help beacon by tapping the quick chat button. There are ways to handle it and revenge is only meant to help out. In the full game you can put all your stat points into revenge if you hate being ganged up on.

    Nope, it's quite strong.

I have two main issues with Revenge:

1.) When characters stack revenge gain on their gear and can get it super quickly in a single 1v1 duel, that needs to not happen regularly.

2.) The Revenge activation needs to way more consistently knock down nearby opponents, way too often it doesn't do anything even when they are right next to me and launching attacks.

Otherwise I think Revenge is pretty much fine and works solidly as an equalizer. It shouldn't make you suddenly win a 2v1 much less a 3 or 4 v1 especially against opponents who are coordinated and attacking you from different directions.

    I think it's quite balanced

In my opinion the revenge mode is perfect for what it should reward, and that's the chance of surviving.

If you fight against 2 enemy's (or more, depends on the character you play), stand your defense and wait for revenge to get triggered. Then if you activate it at the right time you can bring all the enemies around you to the ground and finish one of.

Also watch your classes. For example an assassin is not made for fights with more than 2 enemies. 3v1 or 4v1 (when 4v1 you should always run to your mates) are better if you got someone with a shield where you can block all sides at once / an wait for revenge.

Facing two attackers and defending gets you revenge bar filled. Pop it like you would a parry and it will auto-knock down the attack before it does dmg. Proceed with a double, or more, overhead combo and watch at least 50% of their full life fall to the ground. Spam a light attack and if you can combo into it they dead.

Combined with a small defensive buff ontop of the super armour ontop of the very little hp regen, you can turn a 2v1 into a surprise gank.
Any other time you stagger them and run away because if there are 4 of them charging at you, you got some teammates free to do other stuff elsewhere... hopefully.
In a confusing brawl of 3v3 in the middle of some minions, revenge is the sweet succor upon which you may lay your head and cleave the unsuspecting.

    100% Agree.

Only one comment: If they buff revenge mode, they should totally take it out of Duel mode.

I still think Revenge mode needs to be buffed, because the majority of arguments here require your opponents to not know of the Revenge mechanic in order for it to properly work. Afraid of the knockdown? feint a heavy and backstep, no knockdown + u can freely heavy or double light the revenge user. Or heck, dodge/backstep/sidestep etc. The problem isn't that it isn't strong, it is that when people stop being "new", it devolves into a simple mechanic you just need to bait before you go in for the kill. Regardless of player skill, a dude who uses revenge will still be curbstomped by 3 players. (with some extent of skill. Again, I'm talking long term, not 1 week after release.)
