he problem is, on PC counter guard breaks aren't that hard to react to too, as it's just middle mouse button, but on console it is far more difficult, as you have to move from right stick to face button. so the console version there needs to be more time to react or better yet just make countering the guard break be pushing the right stick in. problem solved,

Fair point. Merely pressing mmb, or moving your thumb from the stick to 口 and then pressing it are not even almost the same. Playing on PS4 I rarely managed to counter a guard break. Throws were fine, but guard breaks were really too fast. 9 out of 10 times, my counters were just accidental because I tried to guard break the opponent at the same time.

I played with xbox controller on PC. Guardbreaks are slow enough. After some time you always counter them. Be always ready to move your thumb to x or a to dodge. The time to react is high enough, probably something over 300ms. And you should predict a gaurdbreak anyway, it's pretty easy to do after you gained a few hours experience in 1vs1 fights. I counter probably 19 from 20 guardbreaks. And my reaction time is really not the best, especially after getting not enough sleep because I'm addicted to For Honor and have to play the Alpha as much as possible.

You can buy the Xbox Elite controller and map guardbreak on a paddle if you don't want to move your thumb xD.

i could somewhat reliably predict guardbreaks (maybe 2/3rd of the time vs. some players, and it'll likely get easier); you aren't supposed to react, per se. if you can simply react without prediction (no one is really doing this) it would be nothing but a quicktime event, because mindgames are out the window at that point. and you say they can step in, but that alone can be reacted to-- step back yourself, light attack, whatever. guardbreaks still need to be effective though.

if you've played something like streetfighter4 vs. a zangief player, it's probably even worse and he definitely wasn't unstoppable.

you'll definitely want to rebind your gamepad controls where you can guardbreak without moving your finger though.

it has nothing to do with '300ms' reaction time, you just learned when to expect it.. prediction vs. reaction (or i suppose both).

Yep, at a certain point anticipating and predicting guardbreaks is better than purely reacting^^

However on PC it's nearly impossible to react ot a guardbreak bc. the middlemousebutton/mouse-wheel has to be pushed. Normally the index finger is on LMB and middlefinger on RMB...
If the mousewheel has to be used I either use index or middle finger, but in order to do so I have to remove a finger from light or heavy attack.

And during the alpha I forgot to change the buttons, yeah, I'm stoopid, I know xD
