You picked a poor example cause I can do that with a level 1 Orochi with no stat changes. The stat changes only take effect in the dominion mode it even states that in the mode descriptions. Duel and Brawl are unaffected by stats, perks, or anything beyond the base combinations available to the class. That being said I never tested nor saw any hugely significant difference when playing in dominion with a fully upgraded attack stat. Perhaps if Ubi released some numbers on how exactly they worked that would help clear things up. Also I'm perfectly fine with removing stats completely although if done correctly it adds a lot more depth and variety to the game. The example I'd give is league of legends as you can take items that aren't even designed for a certain character and make them work in a way that wasn't intended but funny as hell.Originally Posted by DraxeI Go to original post
Props on the screen fading to black just before the execution. Felt really cinematic.
Most people on replies seem to agree that is the normal damage for orochi and even though I didn't play as him much, on the receiver's end it definitely seems that way.
Still I do believe that gear should only be cosmetic and here is why. If it has a great effect in gameplay then it throws off class balance and messes with player expectation which is important in a game like this. I personally believe that I should know exactly how much damage an attack is going to cause so I can calculate the risk and reward. Now if it doesn't have a great effect it is degraded to the level of a gimmick and I would rather ubisoft doesn't focus on it. They can use the extra time for more cosmetics, polishing the game etc.
I don't feel like removing Gear Stats at all, I believe that would be a little excessive.
I'd rather see stats have just little influence, even when maxed out and/or, having one stat higher -> having another one lower. Balance would be needed in this regard, so that having + attack would have a proper tradeoff, like taking more damage when blocking or something like that.
There were no microtransactions in the alpha. I am unclear as to why this is a topic. In order to increase gear level, you had to sacrifice another piece of gear. Executions, unlocking characters, and gear cost coin so you had a choice of what to buy. One of the reasons coin received at the end of the match was so low was to avoid the overpowering of players, I believe.
I wouldn't buy a game with purely cosmetic gear as rewards. A player doesn't want to be the same, in terms of power, as a another person who only plays a few matches per week.
Matchmaking is done before you pick your Hero, as it should be, so we can pick our Hero according to our allies' picks. So, the game doesn't know the level of the Hero you're gonna pick.Originally Posted by AliceTheSilent Go to original post
