Hi all and hi Ubisoft
Thank you for allowing me to play this game so far it's fantastic
Just an idea that I would like if others who read this could maybe help me expand my idea and thought process.
The idea is basically the idea of the "Risk" board game. In my head this could be played with a group of people controlling a faction (so 3 teams....3 players). Each faction controls a country to start the game and the idea is to go around the map winning battles against the other 2 players. The idea is to take over the world.
Again just an idea that I think could keep this game relevant as a few people seem to believe that when 2v2 brawl dies out, so will the game.
Help me expand the idea please I think this is plausible to do
That's essentially what War of the Ring mode was in LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth 2. Two players could cooperate in a RISK-style campaign mode while fighting the battles in real-time. It was awesome. I played that mode for years with two people who didn't play any other video game in the years before or after.
A non-linear campaign mode like that can work with multiple players, but it requires those players to always move their armies into the same territories so that real-time battles are always fought together.
An alternative which would be easier to reproduce with the current maps is something like Galactic Conquest mode in the original Star Wars: Battlefront. That set territories in a chain for a tug-of-war scenario. So you could lose a territory, then recover it and advance in a linear campaign. The dynamics that helped keep it interesting were the bonuses the player could choose from among the territories he presently controlled.
In any case, a mode that connects battles into a larger campaign with dynamic sequences or events (unlike a story mode) helps a lot to make individual battles more interesting. It gives them purpose and a sense of progression.
