The Orochi's guaranteed damage on deflects

Now hear me out, I'm not going to be yelling "Orochi is broken plz remove character". I do however think he is slightly too powerful. And what makes him too powerful imo, is his guaranteed damage and the pressure that comes with it on a successful deflect. And contrary to the warden (with the somewhat similar top-riposte guarateed damage, on a successful R1 parry) this works in all directions, without even having to press an extra parry button. This leaves very little room to play around that ability, and the deflect in of itself is rather easy to pull of. And I know some of you will say "Well you just have to play defensivly against him", but I think it's rather weird that you should be forced on a ultra defense every time you face an Orochi. Doesn't feel particularly balanced to me.

Other than this I think he's fine, nothing op about him. An Orochi can be countered just like any other character, and at the end of the day it comes down to player skill above all else. He is one of my favourite characters to play as (next to the warden), but I do feel he deserves a slight nerf to his deflect. Whether that be reduced damage, the ability to block his counter attack (yes please), or making the deflect more difficult to pull of in some way, just something. Just my 2 cents (and apparantly a lot of other peoples cents aswell).

How do you feel about the berzerker getting a guaranteed guardbreak in its deflect? With a wall nearby that's a guaranteed top heavy attack as well.

Not as bothered by that tbh, because a guardbreak isn't necessarily guaranteed damage. And as you said, the top attack is guaranteed only if a wall is nearby, which puts a "condition" on that top heavy attack to connect, which in turn makes it more difficult to pull off.

The Orochi doesn't get a guaranteed attack after a deflect. I assume you're referring to the R1 right after a deflect. Though you deflect your enemy's attack, your enemy can continue his chain while you're in the counter attack. So you should only use that counter attack assuming your enemy has finished his attack on you.

No way dude, Orochi's R1 after the deflect is infinitely faster than any other attack. Even if you try your damnest to continue your chain, you will be interupted by the Orochi R1 counter. If the Orochi uses his R2 counter after the deflect however, you will hit him by continuing your chain, because the R2 is significantly slower.

Only interupteble attacks will continue trough the R1 counter.

Maybe they could make it so heavy attacks are not deflectable, only blockable. This way you could be sure not to be counter-attacked but would have to use a slower attack in order to do so, with the risk of being hit by a faster attack.

i actually feel the opposite. it makes way more sense for heavy attacks to be deflected than light attacks. Ill be doing a combo with light attacks and get deflected and it pisses me off lol. Light attacks barely even hurt in this game.

Make it so deflects are parries but using light attack, so using it too early does not result in blocking but in getting hit, and the opponent feinting result in you attack with a light attack in that direction. That's the first thing I'd change for all assassins. And I say this as a Orochi level 20.

I actually am in love with this idea. And would seriously make it an advanced difficulty character to play and supremely more satisfying. High risk high reward.
