I don't even know if this is by design or not but the patterns and symbols on the Conquerors shield look as though they are facing the wrong direction and there's no way to rotate them. It's only a pet peeve but I'm certain I'm not the only one it annoys. It just makes it look weird to have the design looking like it's on its side and makes me only want to use designs that are the same all the way around like the sun. It also seems like a wasted opportunity that you don't have the ability to put your emblem on the shield.

I was about to report it, but did a search first and found this.

You are right and I don't think it is by design.

The Conqueror holds the shield horizontally in the customization screen, but the game applies any paint or graphics vertically.

This means that anything you put on the shield is rotated 90 degrees clockwise and looks stupid in game.
