Berserker i have no problem with. Orochi however definitely needs to be nerfed or else thatll be everyones main. he hits so quick that his sword literally jumps inside of you and its ridiculous, that and he has his roll and dodge moves that teleports him all over the place, including inside you. See some people are fine while using him but quite a few exploit his ridiculous speed and theres really nothing you can do about it.Originally Posted by Chamillion1 Go to original post
I concur, at least with the Orochi. I think an over-arching forced delay on stance/direction switch would help tremendously. It doesn't need to be long, but gate the ability to literally stance cycle and make most attacks unblockable, especially for the Orochi.Originally Posted by Chamillion1 Go to original post
I don't really have a problem with the Berserker. The easiest way to deal with them is to time a heavy attack that hits them as they are moving in to attack and follow that up with a couple of light attacks. I agree that if they start landing combos there is almost nothing you can do to stop it. I agree with the other two in saying that the Orochi on the other hand is near impossible to deal with. They move in to attack, dodge back, move in to attack, dodge back and there really isn't much you can do to stop it. Although I think that might have been part of the design because the Kensei has really quick strikes as well.Originally Posted by Chamillion1 Go to original post
I think that it might be better to have the Orochi stagger a little more easily than others when they get hit so they have to wait for a good opening to attack or get punished heavily for missing the opportunity. I've noticed that the Berserker struggles against timed attacks as they charge in to attack. When I connect with that first attack they are staggered enough for me to land a couple of light attacks, but not usually enough time to land a second heavy attack.
IMO Orochi's main problem is the counter hits. If they where blockable it wouldn't be so bad but as far as I can tell as well as being unblockable the dodge isn't fast enough after attacking to avoid damage from it.
I haven't had any real trouble against Berserkers but when I tried one for the first time I completely destroyed everyone and didn't die once so maybe. Orochi's are the bane of my existence when fighting them though and again when trying one for the first time (only played each once because I love the Warden) I felt like the speed was a bit much.
I have no trouble against any character. Each has strengths and weaknesses. No character needs a nerf. I'll die to Orochi and berserker about 9/10 matches of 1v1. Thy are quick or relentless because the blocking with them is not fixed like the other characters meaning that you can't sit there with any blocking direction constantly pressed. There is a 'how to fight' section in the characters section is..the same place of customization. It has videos on how to play it but you can also use that the other way around. My martialarts instructor said that if I want to block a knife then I must learn how to use it.

Other than the fact that everyone uses orochi there really isnt anything significant anout it especially since you are a lightweight character who doesnt have a continuous block
It's only a problem if you wiggle the stick when trying to react to the next hit. Because there's a slight delay when switching stance, if you switch to the wrong stance you won't have time to switch back, as it is intended. If there was no delay everyone would be able to block everything as quickly so they can think about it, and that would break the whole flow of the Art of Battle. I've been on the receiving end of both classes and whenever I couldn't bock it's because I was panicking and switching to a wrong stance before trying to block in the proper one too late for the delay to allow it.
I'm not saying people should git gud, I'm saying people should learn to deal with the delay and keep calm if they get hit by a zerk/orocho
I didn't find Berserkers all that difficult once you got used to their rushing style. As a heavier character, I was able to adjust and stop their chains before taking too much damage, and Berserkers don't do so much damage per hit that it built up as much as the hits I was landing on them. They're dependant on momentum, which players need to learn to interrupt or mitigate with range.
The orochi was definitely the biggest pain, but players have also been playing him longer from what I understand. Plus his style is more similar to other 3rd person combat games, where fast inputs and parries are common. I wouldn't mind their per hit damage being decreased, but the character is built on counters. To beat him, you need to play carefully and use your tactics. Rushing him is exactly what the Orchi wants. You'll never get your attacks in before his, with the exception of the Kensai's pokes or maybe a warden's R1 from a good distance.
Once we've all played more, I'm sure more flushed out tactics will emerge, but I felt fine about their speed advantage when I considered my own advantage in per hit damage and health.
